Charlize Theron Embraces Bold Hair Do
Charlize Theron Embraces Bold Hair Do

She’s kept her new haircut hidden under an array of hats in recent weeks, but it seems that Prometheus star Charlize Theron has finally decided to ditch the head wear and embrace her shaved look.

The South African actress was spotted in Namibia this week with her adopted son Jackson, revealing her dramatic buzz cut in all it’s glory for the first time.

The 36-year-old and her little boy wore co-ordinated red tops as they were spotted in the city.

Charlize chopped of her trademark long blonde locks earlier this month to play Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth film in the post apocalyptic series.

She will feature opposite Tom Hardy, who fills the role made famous by Mel Gibson, and she said she cannot wait for the cameras to roll.

The star said: ‘I feel like the original “Mad Max” created such a vivid world, that to go back and re-imagine it and kind of replay in that sandbox sounds like fun to me. George really created a female character that I’ve never read anything like this. I mean, I’m scared!’

The star continued: ‘I’m very excited about it; I’m dying! It’s been three years; it’s time to skin this cat already!’

Also reported to be starring in the movie is Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Rosie’s new role has not been identified beyond Deadline’s report that she will be playing one of the movie’s “five featured wife characters.”

Prometheus actress Charlize Theron was photographed walking into a Los Angeles hair salon on June 6, and hasn’t been seen without a hat since.

She wore a beanie to the gym over the weekend, which is suspicious in itself due to the LA heat at this time of year. Charlize later stepped out with son Jackson on Monday, wearing a chic fedora.

But if you look closely, you can solve the puzzle: the actress’s gorgeous long blonde locks are gone.

A rep for Charlize confirmed to People magazine that she shaved her head last week for her role as Furiosa in the upcoming movie Mad Max: Fury Road. The action film, which costars Tom Hardy, starts shooting next month in Africa.

Charlize isn’t the first actress to shave her head for a role; she follows in the footsteps of Anne Hathaway, who recently chopped off her long brunette hair for Les Misérables

Charlize has done a good job of covering up her newly shaved head so far, but no doubt when we do get a peak at her new ‘do, she’ll still look as gorgeous as ever.

Charlize recently revealed that all of her Snow White and the Huntsman co-stars became very close on set. She told BANG Showbiz: ”We all made out with each other at some stage in the movie because when Sam’s character kisses Snow White it’s actually me in disguise.”

Tom Hardy reveals his Al Capone preparation

Tom Hardy’s career just keeps moving onwards and upwards and he is now set to play the infamous gangster Al Capone, in the new movie based on his rise to power titled Cicero. Tom has been discussing how he has been getting himself in to the right mindset for the part and that he has been watching a lot of old gangster movies in a bid to portray Al Capone convincingly.

Hardy explained, “I’ve been working with Warner Bros, watching their gangster films, the ones with James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and Edward G. Robinson. It’s interesting to get them, and a bit of Capone, into the bloodstream. The idea isn’t to remake those films but to get a flavour of them as we explore Capone’s career as a racketeer. The idea at the moment is of doing a trilogy of films, but nothing is set. Everyone is just talking and exploring.”

Tom Hardy has three movies out this year, all of which look set to be impressive movies. This Means War is set to be released on February 17, while The Dark Knight Rises, which sees Tom playing the villain Bane, is released on July 20, with Wettest County being released on August 31. Tom Hardy was recently confirmed to be playing the role of Mad Max in the remake of the hit Mel Gibson movie. Cicero is set to begin production in 2013.
