Rachel Weisz Wants Daniel Craig’s Special Agent Movie To Do As Well As Own
Rachel Weisz Wants Daniel Craig’s Special Agent Movie To Do As Well As Own

Rachel Weisz has insisted that despite starring in a rival special agent movie to husband Daniel Craig, she is loyal to James Bond and Jason Bourne.

The Oscar-winning actress stars in action film The Bourne Legacy - billed as the American rival franchise to 007 - but she told Empire magazine there will be no off-screen rivalry between her and hubby Daniel.

Rachel said: “Oh gosh, that’s an unfair question! How do I answer that? Where do my loyalties lie? To both. I want them both to do well. I don’t have to choose do I? People can see them both. I would like them both to sell an equally enormous number of tickets.”

Meanwhile, the 42-year-old star of The Mummy - who co-founded a student drama group called Cambridge Talking Tongues while studying at Cambridge University - claims she was shy about performing when she was younger.

She said: “I wasn’t so much a shy child, but I was shy about acting. I wasn’t the sort of kid whose mother would put her on the table and make her dance for everyone.

“I wasn’t the star of school plays, I was the third lead or something. I was generally very shy of performing. I wasn’t a ‘performer’. I’m still not really like that, I don’t think. I don’t have that ‘jazz hands’ thing in me.”

Who will be the next James Bond?
Who will be the next James Bond?

It seems that Daniel Craig will be playing James Bond for many years to come and he has previously admitted that he is more than happy to continue playing James Bond for as long as he is wanted. However, there will come a time when a new James Bond is needed.

English actor Idris Elba has previously stated that he would love to become the first ever black James Bond, which was met with a mixed response from fans. However, with Daniel Craig set to be 007 for a good few years yet, it is unlikely that Idris Elba will ever get the chance.

There is no shortage of up and coming British talent and any British actor would surely love the chance to be James Bond. Even talentless British celebrities, such as The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, have declared an interest in the role.

Yet the likelihood is that a big name British star will be brought in to replace Daniel Craig and one of the best British actors in the business right now is, without doubt, Robert Pattinson. Would he be right to play James Bond though? We think so!

James Bond actor Daniel Craig has revealed that he would love to continue playing 007 for as long as he is wanted in the role. Daniel admitted that he is fully aware that he will have to step down eventually, but he is just keen on focussing on playing James Bond himself for now.

Craig explained to BBC News, “I know there’ll be someone after me, and hopefully someone after them - I’m just trying to keep [the franchise] going.” Daniel then went on  to talk about the latest instalment of the James Bond franchise, Skyfall.

He added, “We haven’t been resting on our laurels, we’ve been plotting what to do with this film. The first one was a whirr - it was a new experience and flew by - the second one was the tricky second album, but this one we’ve really planned and got a great script.”

Daniel continued, “It’s going to be different from the last one, but it will still be a great Bond movie.” As well as Daniel Craig, Skyfall also stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Judi Dench. Skyfall is directed by Sam Mendes and is set to be released on October 26 in the UK and November 9 in the US.

Tom Hardy to play James Bond in Christopher Nolan 007 movie?

The Dark Knight Rises actor Tom Hardy has revealed how he would love the opportunity to one day play the legendary character James Bond, hopefully with Christopher Nolan directing. Tom Hardy has become a fans favourite and would top many people’s list to replace Daniel Craig as 007 in the future.

Tom Hardy and Christopher Nolan have developed a very good relationship with each and have worked together on a number of movies. Now Tom has confirmed that a James Bond movie with Christopher at the helm would certainly interest him.

Hardy explained, “I’d love to play Bond with Chris Nolan (as a) director or something, it would be awesome.” Christopher Nolan has previously expressed a desire to direct a James Bond movie in the future, so we could well see Tom Hardy as James Bond one day.

However, it is unlikely that we will see Tom Hardy as James Bond anytime soon, as Daniel Craig is believed to be signed up for a few more 007 movies yet. The latest James Bond movie Skyfall is set to hit the big screen in the UK in October and then in the US in November.

Do you think Tom Hardy would make a good James Bond?

He said, “My grandad told me before he died that if you don’t reach for the stars you won’t get there. I want to be James Bond one day. Nothing fazes me. I want to be a massive Hollywood actor.”

Emily Blunt would love to do comic book movie
Emily Blunt would love to do comic book movie

The Devil Wears Prada actress Emily Blunt has revealed that, even though she has previously turned down roles in both Iron Man 2 and Captain America, she would love to do a comic book movie in the future. Emily claims that the only reason she turned down the roles in the Marvel movies was because the female characters never seem to have very big roles.

Blunt explained, “Usually the female parts in a superhero film feel thankless: She’s the pill girlfriend while the guys are whizzing around saving the world. I didn’t do the other ones because the part wasn’t very good or the timing wasn’t right, but I’m open to any kind of genre if the part is great and fun and different and a challenge in some way.”

She added, “I would love to do a comic-book movie or a science-fiction film that would scare the bejesus out of me. Maybe I need to be James Bond!” You can catch Emily Blunt, starring alongside Ewan McGregor, in her latest movie Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, which is set to be released in the US on March 9 and in the UK on April 20.
Sam Mendes praises Daniel Craig as James Bond
Sam Mendes praises Daniel Craig as James Bond

Sam Mendes is the latest director to tackle a James Bond movie, as he directs the latest instalment Skyfall and Sam has been discussing the latest actor to portray 007. Daniel Craig has played James Bond in the last two movies, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace and he will be playing Bond again in Skyfall and Sam has had nothing but kind words to say about the actor.

Mendes explained, “The roots of me doing this movie start way before anybody approached me, because I, like anyone else, have my own personal relationship with Bond, which began when I was nine or ten years old. I’ve always been a fan of the movies.”

He added, “I was genuinely blown away by Casino Royale. I felt Daniel Craig was a real man in a real situation again. It reminded me of the way I felt when I watched the Sean Connery movies. So for me it was not actually that difficult a decision.” Skyfall is currently still in the process of filming but you will be able to see Daniel Craig in his third outing as James Bond when Skyfall hits the big screen on October 26 in the UK and November 9 in the UK.
Naomie Harris discusses her James Bond Skyfall character
Naomie Harris discusses her James Bond Skyfall character

Hollywood actress Naomie Harris has revealed how her character in the latest James Bond movie Skyfall likes to think of herself of a bit of a female James Bond type. Naomie plays the character Eve, who is also a field agent but she did admit that, while her character would love to be like James Bond, she is not really in the super spy’s league.

Harris explained, “My character would like to see herself as a female Bond. But I don’t think anyone’s really a match for Bond.” She then discussed what her character does and how she adapted to that. Naomie added, “I kickbox and do a lot with guns. I started off terrified by the sound of a gun, let alone having any idea of how to hold one but now I really enjoy it.”

Naomie Harris previously revealed how she was ready to get going before filming on Skyfall had begun and it would now seem that she is thoroughly enjoying it. Naomie Harris will be joined on Skyfall by Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Bérénice Marlohe, Helen McCrory and Javier Bardem. Skyfall is set to be released on October 26.
Mark Wright after Dermot O’Leary’s X Factor job?
Mark Wright after Dermot O’Leary’s X Factor job?

It seems that the former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright was not joking when he said he aims for the stars. Only yesterday, Mark Wright revealed that he believes that he would have no problem being the next James Bond, although now it seems that he has set his sights slightly lower but still rather ambitious. Mark claims that he would be a perfect replacement for Dermot O’Leary as the host of The X Factor.

Mark Wright was not making any sort of official pitch for the job but he certainly hinted at it as a future possibility. Wright explained, “I’m not daunted by things I believe I’m talented at. If you asked me, could I be the next top basketball player? I’d say no. If you ask me, could I present X Factor one day, yeah, I could.”

It seems highly unlikely that Mark Wright would ever get the job as the host of The X Factor, especially since Dermot O’Leary does such a fantastic job every year. However, show business is a funny old game and stranger things have happened in the past. So, Dermot O’Leary watch your back, Mark Wright is coming for you job!
Mark Wright to be the next James Bond
Mark Wright to be the next James Bond

Somebody jokingly suggested recently that Mark Wright should be the man to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond and while many people sniggered at this remark, Mark Wright did not. While Mark has accepted that it was a comment made in jest, he does honestly believe he would make a good 007 and thinks that it is a testament to his character that he dreams so big.

Wright explained, “It’s any man’s dream, being Bond. Someone made a joke in a paper about me playing him and I thought, ‘Why not? I’ll do it, I’ll be the next James Bond’. That’s the kind of guy I am. I believe you have to dream big and aim for the stars. A bit of it might be tongue-in-cheek, but do I think I’d make a good Bond? Yeah, I do.”

It was recently announced that Mark Wright is set to make his big screen movie debut in a British gangster movie, alongside Danny Dyer and Kelly Brook. It is also believed that Mark Wright is working with a vocal coach, in an attempt to get rid of his Essex accent and help him to achieve Hollywood success. Good Luck Mark, keep dreaming big.
Daniel Radcliffe almost quit Harry Potter
Daniel Radcliffe almost quit Harry Potter

Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has revealed how he almost quit the movie franchise, as he was worried about the prospect of committing to every single Harry Potter movie. Daniel claims that he was tempted to quit after Harry Potter and the Prisnoer of Azkaban but that he could not think of any other acting roles for a boy of his age, at the time.

Radcliffe explained, “There was a time after the third film when I thought about quitting. It was only for a second, but I thought, ‘If I do the fourth, I’ll have to do them all’. If I was going to leave, that would have been the perfect time because it would have given whoever came in to play Harry enough films to establish himself properly. It wouldn’t have totally dumped him in the s**t. But then I started thinking, ‘What other good parts are there for 15-year-olds? None’.”

Daniel also admitted that he would love to join another British movie franchise, in the form of the James Bond movies, although he would rather not follow Daniel Craig as 007. He added, “I’d like to be in the new one [Skyfall], with Sam Mendes directing but I don’t know if I’d be any good as Bond. I definitely wouldn’t want to follow Daniel Craig. I’ll let someone else have a go first. Erm… who’d be terrible as Bond?” Daniel Radcliffe can be seen in The Woman in Black which is out now.
Daniel Craig in line for five more Bond films?
Daniel Craig in line for five more Bond films?

It has been suggested that, James Bond actor, Daniel Craig could be set to play the secret agent for a further five more films, taking his total outings as 007 to eight. This would take Daniel Craig past the record of seven, currently held by Roger Moore. The suggestions came following producer Michael G. Wilson’s comments that he would love to see Daniel Craig surpass Roger Moore.

Producer Michael G. Wilson explained, “Daniel’s been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man. The fans love him and I don’t think there’s a better actor to play the part.” He then continued by adding, “I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures.”

It does seem highly unlikely that Daniel Craig would continue to play James Bond for a further five movies, considering how much time there is between movies these days. The last James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, was released in 2008 and the next James Bond movie, Skyfall, is not set to be released until November 9, 2012. So, if Daniel Craig was to stay on as James Bond, they would have to knock out more movies in a quicker time, as he is certainly not getting any younger.
