It seems that Cheryl Cole has a soft spot for bad boys. The singer, who divorced Ashley Cole for cheating on her with multiple women while they were married, has publicly defended Chris Brown after his infamous assault on former girlfriend, pop sensation Rihanna.
Back in 2009, Chris violently attacked the Rihanna in his car on their way to a post award party, causing a media storm and a court injunction forbidding him to go anywhere near he bruised star. Fight For This Love singer Cheryl recently said in a radio interview that the public should now all “move on”, a remark that sparked Chris Brown to thank her for her support.
Cheryl said during the In:Demand With Alex James interview: “I think it’s really kind of Rihanna actually (to forgive Brown). She’s come out and publicly forgiven him really. I think it’s about time we all did if I’m completely honest, if you want my opinion… I think it’s time we all moved on. That guy is talented as hell.”
This prompted Brown to take to social networking site, Twitter, to say to the former X Factor judge: ’Your amazing! I appreciate you.’ He then later added: ‘@cherylcole thanks for the support and believing in me as an artist!’
Cheryl also said in the interview how she wishes more people could learn to forgive and forget, adding: ”I work with people all the time with my charity that are transformed characters. They’ve done things when they were young that they regret, they’ve been to prison and they’re now upstanding members of the public and help our community and are amazing people.”
Could Cheryl be setting herself up for a reconciliation with love rat Ashley?
