Chris Hemsworth discusses what we can expect from Thor 2

With press commitments on The Avengers finally drawing to a close, it’s time for the respective cast members to start looking forward to their individual projects. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the hit movie, has been sharing a few thoughts on what we can expect from Thor 2.

Speaking to MTV, the Thor 2 star, who has just becaome a father for the first time, explained why Loki will always keep coming back for more, and why Thor will keep letting him – suggesting that Tom Hiddleston‘s trickster god will be a major part of the second film.

Chris revealed: “It’s what I loved about the comics. It was never clean and cut and that’s it. It was always like, Thor would forgive him, they’d be friends, and Loki would betray him again. ‘You idiot, Thor! Again?’ But it was different than your normal good guy, bad guy scenario. They’re brothers, you know? Anyone with siblings understands that. ‘That’s it, I’m never talking to you again… want to play football?’”

The dynamic between Thor and Loki will be particularly intriguing, with Loki having betrayed his brother time and again, only for Thor to repeatedly foil his plans.

As for whether the two will be able to get back on an even keel in the sequel, Chris remains uncertain. “He’s got to apologize, doesn’t he?” says the star. “Baked goods. Muffins or something. That would be a bribe we could start with. Beyond that, I don’t know.”

Thor 2 will open in the US on 15 November 2013, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.

Kristen Stewart & Charlize Theron attend Snow White and the Hunstman premiere with new Dad Chris Hemsworth
Kristen Stewart & Charlize Theron attend Snow White and the Hunstman premiere with new Dad Chris Hemsworth

As the evil Queen Ravenna, Charlize Theron envies her young rival’s beauty in new movie Snow White and the Hunstman, but the beautiful actress had no need to feel jealous of Kristen Stewart as the pair walked the red carpet at the highly-anticipated film’s world premiere.

The actresses both chose smouldering gothic glamour looks in sheer black gowns as London’s Leicester Square was transformed into a fairytale enchanted forest for the event. Kristen, 22, wore a black lace gown from Marchesa’s Fall 2012 collection with her hair swept up in a bun. In trademark fashion, Kristen arrived at the event in her favourite pair of Converse, before quickly switching into heels behind a bush before facing the fans and cameras.

Charlize, 36, looked gorgeous in her Christian Dior Couture creation. The sheer tulle design also put the stunning star’s legs on display as she worked the red carpet.

Kristen and Charlize greeted each other with a big hug, and later posed for pictures with Chris Hemsworth, who plays The Hunstman in the big budget film. Avenges star Chris became a father this week when his wife Elsa Pataky gave birth to their baby girl, India, on Friday.

The actor looked surprisingly well rested despite juggling caring for his wife and newborn daughter, who was born in a London hospital, and promotional duties for the film this week.

Chris Hemsworth says Thor 2 should head in direction of Game of Thrones

Heartthrob Chris Hemsworth has said that Thor 2 could learn from the HOB series, Game of Thrones.

The 28-year-old actor has revealed that he is looking forward to working with director Alan Taylor, who has penned a number of episodes of the hit series, on Thor 2.

“[Game of Thrones] had a real mythical element to it, but it was rooted in such an organic and tangible world,” Hemsworth told MTV News. “I think Asgard could really benefit from that sort of a grittier, aged feel to it and not so ethereal,” he continued.

“The big thing about the comics for me was the origin story. Thor was interesting, but what I found more fascinating was the other worlds and realms that you can be taken off into.”

Thor 2 is currently scheduled for release on November 15, 2013.

Game of thrones star Emilia Clarke has recently been discussing how the hit show has effected her life: “I’m really oblivious to it, because I look so different,” said Emilia, whose natural brunette hair color makes her look quite dissimilar from her character, the white-haired, royal exile Daenerys Targaryen. Still, people do occasionally recognize her: A woman in a department store in Los Angeles was too stunned to get in the elevator when she saw that Emilia was in it. “Khaleesi?” the fan asked.

Chris Hemsworth discusses Avengers cast: ‘There were plenty of hugs on that film’

Chris Hemsworth admits there were plenty of “group hugs” on the set of Avengers Assemble.

Chris, who plays Thor in the superhero film, says the cast formed a close bond. The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo.

Chris told entertainment website, Mania: “Tom [Hiddleston] loves hugs. I did a film with him, and there were plenty of hugs on that film, group hugs.”

The Australian actor got on so well with his team members that they often got together for drinks after filming. “One day, early on in the shoot, Chris [Evans] sent us a text and said ‘Avengers assemble at such and such bar at nine o’clock.’ That was a good group effort,” he laughed.

“I keep getting asked about who was the biggest diva and things like that. There were no divas, even when we were getting into trouble. We were all are either that well behaved or everyone kept each other in check. No one wanted to be the one who screwed up.”

Heartthrob Chris feels lucky to have had the experience of playing Thor before reprising the role in Avengers Assemble, but despite having his background as Thor to draw on, he admits he felt a bit like a fish out of water.

“[Director] Joss [Whedon] said it early on: this is a dysfunctional family, and yet we somehow belong there since none of us belongs anywhere else. With Thor, the conflict and the villain was far more personal than the rest of them because it was his brother,” he explained. “It was nice to have already shot that first film and have that relationship with Tom [Hiddleston] to build on. It was fun to play that dynamic.”

Hunky Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth has opened up about working with Twilight star Kristen Stewart on Snow White And The Huntsman.

Hlamour magazine spoke to the star, who plays Thor in Avengers Assemble, at the UK premiere of the Marvel super hero movie in London yesterday.

When asked what it was like to star opposite Kristen Stewart, Chris said: “It was great! [She showed a] great amount of integrity and commitment to that role, and I think we all came into it knowing what the director, Rupert, was capable of, and we knew that if we did our bit it would be something special. So far, the film looks pretty impressive.”

The heartthrob also revealed what all the ladies have been wanting to know - what a girl would have to do to impress his character, Thor: “Well, what did Jane do to impress Thor? She showed an incredible amount of integrity and intelligence, and I think that caught him by surprise,” he mused.

The Avengers is released in the UK on the 26th April, and also stars Scarlett Johnsson who has been discussing her character, and why she loved playing that role.

The Avengers cast reveal their most memorable moments

The Avengers is expected to be one of the biggest movies of 2012 and some of the cast members, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L Jackson have revealed to Collider some of their most memorable moments from filming the movie.

Downey Jr. explained, “There’s that first time that we’re all assembled on the bridge, when we all see each other and realize that we’re probably likely to continue shooting the movie because we had to make good on this vision of Kevin Feige’s, from as far back as I can remember. I have a question: How come it’s only Harry Dean Stanton that got to see Mark Ruffalo naked? Anyone who has that answer, I’ll trade you one for it.”

Hemsworth added, “That was our first day on set, too, with the whole ensemble, which was a pretty exciting and nerve-wracking experience. That was amazing!”

Evans went for, “Mine was the scene where Thor and Iron Man are fighting. I had just seen Thor, the day prior, and I had yet to see Hemsworth or Downey in their full suit. I showed up that night, and it was the first time I saw them both geared up, and I just got really excited. I felt like a little kid. It was just an honor to be a part of it.”

Ruffalo kept it short and sweet, “Mine was being naked in front of Harry Dean Stanton.”

Jackson concluded,” I was naked in front of Harry Dean Stanton, the night before he shot the scene [with Mark].”

There is clearly plenty of friendly banter between the cast and crew and they are all expected to return for The Avengers 2, once they have been off and done their own individual movies. The Avengers is set to be released on April 26 in the UK and May 4 in the US.
Joss Whedon reveals the love behind The Cabin in the Woods
Joss Whedon reveals the love behind The Cabin in the Woods

While Joss Whedon has been receiving a lot of attention for directing the upcoming Marvel movie blockbuster The Avengers, it seems that there is another project that he feels equally as strongly about. Joss co-wrote the movie The Cabin in the Woods with Drew Goddard, who directed the project and Joss claims that it was a labour of love.

Whedon explained, “It is a genuine labour of love, and it’s a love of creepy horrible things. It was a joy to write, really difficult to make, and then of course the studio went bankrupt and the roof caved in.”

He added, “That happened a couple of years ago - it just blossomed [since then], Lionsgate came and said, ‘By the way we love this’. They’ve done such a wonderful job with it and all of a sudden Drew and I are standing around going, ‘Oh, here we go!’ It’s an absolute joy.”

The Cabin in the Woods was shot way back in 2009 but its release was delayed due to the problems with MGM. However, The Cabin in the Woods, which stars Chris Hemsworth is finally set to hit the big screen this week.
Kristen Stewart to be killed off in Snow White and the Huntsman?
Kristen Stewart to be killed off in Snow White and the Huntsman?

It seems that there could well be a sequel to the forthcoming Rupert Sanders movie Snow White and the Huntsman but not based around the main character. While you would expect a Snow White and the Huntsman sequel to centre around Snow White, it appears that that is not the case.

Instead, it has been claimed that Universal are looking to develop a sequel around the secondary character the huntsman, who is played by Chris Hemsworth. This has led people to believe that it could mean that Snow White, who is played by Kristen Stewart, will be killed off.

While that is not known and is rather unexpected, it is not out of the question and Ron Meyer of Universal has confirmed that a Snow White and the Huntsman sequel is currently being discussed but that it will most likely be about the huntsman.

Ron explained, “While the [film] doesn’t appear to lend itself to a sequel, Universal thinks it can do more movies based on the character of the huntsman if it is successful.” Snow White and the Huntsman is set to be released on June 1 in both the US and the UK.
Chris Hemsworth discusses The Avengers egos
Chris Hemsworth discusses The Avengers egos

The Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth, who is reprising his role as Thor in the Joss Whedon directed Marvel movie, has admitted that there was always going to be a clash of egos in The Avengers, considering how many huge superheroes there are, all on the same team.

Chris was asked by Collider if he thought that a clash would be inevitable, to which he replied, “Absolutely. I think that conflict is what makes it interesting. Having seen these people in the individual films, it’s probably pretty safe to say that a lot of the team coming together is having to be about them managing their own egos or each others, and how they fit in. What sort of part they fill.”

While there is set to be a clash of egos between the superheroes in The Avengers movie, director Joss Whedon has previously stated that there was no conflict between any of the actors on the set of the movie. In fact, Joss claimed that it was the most ego free set that he has worked on.

The Avengers stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

The Avengers is released in the UK on April 26 and in the US on May 4.

Mark Ruffalo is the latest actor to attempt to portray the character Bruce Banner, aka The Incredible Hulk, when The Avengers is released later this month. Mark has admitted that he felt rather nervous when meeting the other stars of The Avengers, claiming it is much like the first day of school.

Ruffalo explained, “Both Jeremy [Renner, who plays Hawkeye] and I were new to the whole thing. The others, like Robert Downey Jr. [Iron Man], Chris Hemsworth [Thor] and Chris Evans [Captain America] have already been in their own superhero movies. It was like your first day of school.”

Mark admitted that, while many people could have found the whole thing a bit too daunting and made a run for it, he decided to stick around, if only to get to spend some time with Hollywood legend Samuel L Jackson. He added, “When you’ve got [Samuel L] Jackson standing in front of you, you don’t run. I melted.”

The Avengers stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

Rupert Sanders praises Charlize Theron for Snow White and the Huntsman performance
Rupert Sanders praises Charlize Theron for Snow White and the Huntsman performance

Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, has praised Charlize Theron for her performance as Queen Ravenna in his Snow White adaptation. Rupert admitted that many of the ideas that Charlize had for the character were perfect for making her more believable.

Sanders explained, “I think what we really tried to do is make her a realistic character. It’s a hard character to play because everyone has their perception of what the evil queen is and what the villain should do, but I think what was great about what Charlize wanted to do, is she wanted to find a very believable, very realistic, very wounded character.”

He added, “People who are wounded are much more dangerous. You look at nature, people who are protecting their young, or an animal that is wounded is far more vicious and violent than something that is just strong. And I think that she found this incredible pain within herself that made the brutality of what she was doing far more resonant.”

Snow White and the Huntsman sees Twilight actress Kristen Stewart playing the famous fairytale character, while Chris Hemsworth is playing the huntsman from the title. Charlize Theron rounds things off as the Evil Queen Ravenna, with Rupert Sanders on directing duty.

Snow White and the Huntsman is released on June 1 in both the US and the UK.
