Hollywood actress Charlize Theron has revealed how her life dramatically changed, after she won the Best Actress in a Leading RoleOscar for her performance in the 2003 movie Monster. Charlize admitted that she found it all confusing to start with but now she has learnt to embrace the attention.
Theron explained, “Suddenly every agent, every manager, everyone told me they knew what was the best for me to do next. They were all very certain they knew. I started to listen, and I became more confused. I felt so much pressure. At one point, I pulled away and stopped listening. It was an experience.”
She added, “Winning came as a total surprise at the time, I was unprepared for it. Now, I am trying to get the best out of it: spend time with my mother and friends, enjoy every event, every award show, every compliment I get.”
Charlize Theron is next set to appear on the big screen, starring alongside Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, in the Rupert Sanders Snow White adaptation, Snow White and the Huntsman, which is set to be released in both the US and the UK on June 1, 2012.
Snow White and the Huntsman actress Kristen Stewart has revealed how her character Snow White is a born leader, who has all the qualities of a great leader running through her veins. Kristen also admitted that Snow White is more than capable of looking after herself.
Stewart explained, “[She’s] a born leader. I mean, it’s literally pumping through those veins, but it’s been taken from her. She was put away when she was seven years old and her mother and her father were killed basically right in front of her.”
She added, “And we’re not doing the version of a fairytale that wouldn’t deal with all of those things, where you just sort of skim over all those things. It’s like all of these things are actually really important to the characters.”
Kristen continue, “She bleeds for her land and her people, and that’s just such a cool concept for me because it’s other people caring about people. I mean, she’s strong. She can kick ass. I think she genuinely lacks that innate fear of death that we all have. She’s got serious, fierce survival, not skills but insights. But she isn’t afraid of anything.”
Kristen Stewart will appear alongside Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman, which is set to be released in both the US and the UK on June 1.
Do you think Kristen Stewart will make a better Snow White than Lily Collins?
Young Adult actress Charlize Theron has teased some information about what the audience members can expect from her character in the forthcoming Alien prequel Prometheus. Charlize claims that her character is a bit of a villain in the film but, without giving too much away, her character starts of one way and ends up another.
Theron explained, “I play somewhat of a villain in it. She’s the suit that runs the company that has nickeled and dimed this whole thing together, to fund this mission. She starts out one thing and ends up another thing. It’s a pretty nice surprise, toward the third act, so I don’t want to ruin that for you, but she really does start out very one-dimensional.”
She added, “The great thing about Ridley is that he shoots everything so layered that you always wonder. There were many days that I showed up and he would do this tiny little thing like throw me in the corner, just lurking. And then, all of a sudden, that became a character trait. I would always be in the corner, lurking over everybody, and not saying anything, but just watching. Then, you realize that it really adds to this enigma of this character and what her agenda really is.”
Prometheus is set to be released on June 1, 2012 in the UK and then on June 8, 2012 in the US.

Theron explained, “I remember I was in a catsuit. I had never auditioned before, and I almost brought a bottle of ketchup and squirted it all over myself for the scene where I got shot. I looked like a maniac. It was a dying scene, so I barged through the door and started crawling on the floor. I think they were too scared not to give me the role.”

South African born Hollywood superstar, Charlize Theron has revealed how she would like to have children in her future, although she is not ready to have them quite yet. Charlize admitted that she would have to know her limits and what she can give to her children before she decided to have them and how many she would like to have.
Theron explained, “I do want to have kids, yeah. I always have. I’ve never had a rush for it, a moment where I really wanted to do it. I don’t have a panic about it. I don’t think about the amount so much. You have to be aware of what you can give. I don’t know where I’m going to be in five years. I might be in a place where I’m like, ‘Yeah! Six!’ I don’t think it will ever be that,”
Charlize Theron is currently in the process of filming her latest movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, which sees her portray The Evil Queen Ravenna. Also starring in Snow White and the Huntsman is Kristen Stewart, as Snow White, Chris Hemsworth, as The Huntsman and Sam Claflin, as Prince William. Charlize Theron may play The Evil Queen in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman but she is far from evil in reality. Charlize took the time to praise co star Kristen Stewart, who plays her on screen enemy Snow White, stating that she admires her attitude towards fame.
Theron explained, “She just turned 21. She’s a child. When I think about myself at 21, I had just done The Devil’s Advocate, and Keanu Reeves had paparazzi following him and Al Pacino said this thing to me, ‘If I knew that my life would be under this kind of scrutiny, I would have never become an actor.’”
She added, “And Kristen is just living this to the max and still has a sense of humor about it. There’s this really lovely quality about her that just doesn’t give a f***. A lot of people say they don’t, but then they go home and cry and pop a Xanax. Kristen actually doesn’t give a f***. That’s what’s so refreshing about her.”
Charlize then teased, “I’m looking forward to killing her and taking her beauty. That’s what happens, right?” You can see Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart on screen together, when Snow White and the Huntsman is released on June 1, 2012.
Charlize Theron is enjoying life following her split from longtime boyfriend Stuart Townsend, insisting the break-up has helped to reinvigorate her acting career. The Monster actress separated with Stuart in January 2010 after nine years together. Charlize has since threw herself into filming upcoming movie Young Adult.
Charlize, 36, credits the love split with giving her a renewed lease of life and passion for her craft. She tells Vogue magazine, “I really, really missed it (acting). Like around week three (of the shoot), I had this horrible, sappy moment where I got a little overwhelmed. It was just a really great f**king experience. I’d gotten out of a relationship and I was in this really floaty place. My feet weren’t touching the ground. I just kind of turned to (director Jason Reitman) and was like, ‘I feel like me again.’”
Charlize admits she worked hard to try and save her failing romance because she’s not used to being alone. She says, “It was sinking, and I had to give it a fight. I really wanted to try and make it work. That was the priority. I wouldn’t do it any different way… I’ve never been single. This is the first time in my life. From the time I was 19, I’ve been in relationships, literally gone from one to the other within a month.” However, the South African beauty has learned to embrace her single status: “It’s (being single) been good for me. I’m a creature who’s really found her comfort zone in relationships.”
