The predictable exit of pretty Hollie Cavanagh from American Idol was overshadowed by an astonishing half time performance from judge Jennifer Lopez.
Astonishing, and not necessarily for the right reasons, as the 42-year-old seemed to have something to prove as she unleashed a cringeworthy public display of affection with her dancer boyfriend, Casper Smart, during a performance of new single Dance Again.
Taking the stage in nothing but a sequin covered bodice and a pair of black tights, J-Lo looked fantastic, but the skimpy outfit’s purpose was revealed when Casper, 25, pulled away from the rest of the backing dancers to perform alone with his older lover. Totally unnecessarily for everyone watching, the youngster grabbed the mother-of-two’s derriere as they performed an x-rated semi-tango. Despite the effort, the pair appeared to lack chemistry.
It was a stark contrast to J-Lo’s performance with estranged husband Marc Anthony at last year’s Idol finale, which was sparking with electricity.
At the end of the performance, Casper picked confetti out of J-Lo’s hair after a flurry of ticker tape fell down on them. She immediately said to the audience: ‘He’s so cute!’
Jennifer proved that she hasn’t learned anything from her nauseating 2002 video for Jenny from the Block which co-starred her then boyfriend Ben Affleck. The pair were shown cavorting on a yacht, with the Academy Award winning actor nuzzling into J-Lo’s bikini clad body and untying her hot pink top.
Now married to Jennifer Garner with three little ones, Ben Affleck - who was engaged to marry the Latino singer - says he regrets doing the video.
The ‘We Found Love’ singer raised concerns after posting a picture of herself with an IV drip on Twitter earlier this week.
However, Rihanna is now reportedly feeling “fine” and recovering from a recent bout of flu which sparked some concern amongst fans this week after the singer posted a picture of an arm connected to an IV drip on her Twitter page.
There has been no official statement that the singer was hospitalised, although a source close to the singer confirmed to People magazine that she had been taken ill: “She had a fever and flu since last week and needed an IV, but is fine now,” they told the publication.
The ‘Talk That Talk’ star had posted several messages on her Twitter account before the photo was revealed admitting she was feeling under the weather. However, shortly after the picture was posted, Rihanna also uploaded a shot at an airport as she headed from New York to Los Angeles, where she seemed healthy and fit.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has recently unveiled the official music video to her latest single ‘Where Have You Been’ which she will be performing on the final of American Idol later this month, on the same night that Jason Derulo makes his live return following his neck injury.
Singer Jennifer Lopez is giving up her spot on the panel for center stage as she performs on May 3rd episode of American Idol.
The American Idol judge will show the remaining contestants how to shake their derrière when she performs her controversial song “Dance Again” with boy toy boyfriend Casper Smart, Celebuzz has exclusively learned.
The music video for the single, a collaboration with rapper Pitbull, debuted on April 5. Now, 42-year-old J.Lo and Casper, 25, will re-create the smoldering scenes from the sexy video with a live performance that one production source described as “sensational” and in the same league as her performance of “On the Floor” during last year’s Idol.
“J.Lo’s dancers began learning the choreography for the routine about a week ago and Jennifer joined them for a rehearsal last Saturday (April 21),” a production source reported. “There’s another week-and-a-half of intense rehearsals before the performance.”
The source continued: “There’s no word yet on whether Lopez will pre-tape the “Dance Again” performance and air it as-live, as she did for “On The Floor.”
Singer Nicki Minaj was the musical guest on American Idol recently but she had a bit of friendly banter with Jennifer Lopez about being a guest judge on the show. Jennifer joked back to Nicki that there would not be enough room on the panel for the two of them.
Minaj explained to THR, “She didn’t seem to be having it but she gonna have it! No, actually, I love J-Lo. I love what she’s done for pop culture I have nothing but respect for her and we were just joking around. I’m sure I’ll have lots of fun with them when I’m guest judging.”
It was recently claimed that Nicki Minaj was having meetings with The X Factor creator Simon Cowell and his team, as a possible permanent judge on the forthcoming second season of the hit Fox reality singing competition. However, Nicki admits that she could not do it week in week out.
She added, “Something like American Idol, it’s iconic and has been around for so long and created so many stars. I would love to [guest judge] but as far as sitting down every week, I can’t.”
Former American Idol contestant Antonella Barba, who appeared on the sixth season of the show back in 2007, is set to release some brand new material with her new group LA-eX. Antonella, who admits that she would love to do a duet with Drake, was kind enough to talk to FansShare about her time on American Idol, those controversial photos that appeared on the internet and her future with her new group LA-eX.
FS. It has been five years since you appeared on American Idol. What have you been up to since then?
AB. Wow! It’s been five years? It feels like five months… After Idol, I went back to school in DC and finished up. Then I moved back to Jersey and started working on music. I released a bunch of solo stuff like Jersey Girl and Out For Blood, but I was ready for something new… I’d dreamed about living in LA for years, so in 2010, I finally did it.
FS. Your new group LA-eX is made up of you and two others. What can you tell us about the other two?
AB.Epic and SQRL are both former members of Crazy Town, and they run a production company called The Pharmacy. As a production duo, they really push the envelope with their music. They produce, and the three of us write everything together. The sound we’ve come up with is really unique. LA-eX is its own genre. It’s electronic music, but the way it is produced is really original and fuses together a lot of styles. Epic and SQRL create a such a revolutionary sound together. The marriage of their production with my vocals, as diverse as they are, is something no one has ever heard before.
FS. How long have you all known each other?
AB. We were introduced as soon as I moved out to LA in November 2010. They were some of the first producers I met when I moved here, and we were working together before I even found a place to live out here.
FS. You have a new single coming out soon. What can you tell us about the track?
AB. Our new single is a really cool electronic track with some Latin rhythm in the beat and a really melodic hook. I sing the hook and deliver the verses with a mixture of something between rapping, talking, and singing. It’s a huge song that makes you wanna dance.
FS. You also have an EP coming out this year. What is it called and when can we get our hands on it?
AB. Not sure what we’re calling it yet, but we will be releasing it within the next few months…
FS. What can we expect from the EP?
AB. Well it’s not music that you can stand around to. Every song makes you dance and uncovers a different world in the electronic universe. It’s really edgy and it’s meant to make you feel good and strip away the smoke and mirrors.
FS. You were involved in a photo scandal during your time on American Idol. How did you feel when those photos surfaced?
AB. It wasn’t easy. I felt really exposed, but worse than anything, I felt betrayed by the people who leaked them. The people who love and care about me the most were really hurt in seeing me go through that. They couldn’t even turn on the daytime news without seeing me. As a performer, I know what I am signing up for, so to scrutinize me is a little more fair than to put my family through a lot of pain. They didn’t ask for that.
FS. Does LA-eX have any tour dates planned for this year?
AB. We are starting to book dates now. So far, we’ve been in creative mode, putting together the EP, writing a lot of songs, and playing some underground shows in LA.
FS. Who would you say have been your musical influences as an individual?
AB. Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey
FS. Who would you say has influenced the sound of LA-eX?
AB. Diplo, WuTang and Aphex Twin.
FS. Do you still watch American Idol?
AB. I have actually missed most of this season so far, but once it starts getting closer to the finals, I usually get together with a bunch of my American Idol friends to watch it. Each year, Blake Lewis has an Idol-watching party, and a bunch of alums from all seasons would get together at his house to watch the show. It’s a nice excuse to have some chill time with old friends.
FS. Would you ever consider auditioning for a reality television show again?
AB. Well, I did Fear Factor, which aired in January. Why, I’m not exactly sure…seemed like fun. I have my own reality show in development, based around my singing telegram company, The Jingle Belles, and I would prefer to have my own show than to be auditioning for a competitive show again.
FS. What advice would you give to anybody trying to make it in the music industry?
AB. It’s not easy, and it’s not supposed to be, so if it sucks and it’s hard, you’re good! The most important thing to know is that the only person who can stand in your way ultimately is yourself. What a lot of people don’t understand is that if you want something, just do it. Don’t wait on anybody else. Do it yourself.
Antonella Barba is clearly a very talented artist, as well as being a beautiful lady to match, and is sure to make an impact on the music scene with her new group LA-eX. Having previously covered a hit track, Antonella is not sure who LA-eX will cover in the future. She said, “Well, we already covered Donna Summer's I Feel Love, so I’m not sure what we might tear into next…” Check out www.LAeXmusic.com for more information on the group or alternatively go to www.Facebook.com/LAeXmusic or www.YouTube.com/LAeXmusic. 2012 is beginning to take speed and we are already well into March but it seems that 2012 has already been a great year for former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert and it seems like it is going to get even better.
Adam Lambert’s 2012 has gotten off to a great start and he has already been delivering some amazing news to his fans. At the start of 2012 Adam Lambert became the first American artist to perform at the Q-Snowcase in Zell Am See, Austria, where he played a five song set, including an unplugged version of his track Trespassing.
Trespassing is the title track taken from Adam Lambert’s new album, which was expected to be released on March 20. Unfortunately, Adam has had to delay it until, what he is calling, Mapril. However, the good news has just kept on coming.
It has been confirmed that Adam Lambert is set to, once again, join Queen on stage, as they headline this year’s Sonisphere Festival on July 7, 2012. As well as that, Brian May has confirmed that Queen are set to play Moscow’s Olympic Stadium, on June 30, 2012, with Adam Lambert on lead vocals.

American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has revealed how she still finds it saddening that her relationship with Marc Anthony, who she has two children with, did not work out. Jennifer admitted that they are still working through things and she is very proud of how grown up both she and Marc have been about it.
Lopez explained, “Without going into detail… it’s just really, really sad. And look, we are still going through it, and it’s emotional sometimes and difficult. We’re still friends and we’re parents but it’s going to take time. It’s tough.”
Jennifer then went on to admit that she is very proud of herself and Marc for the way that they have handled the whole situation. She added, “But for the most part, I feel very proud of the way we’re handling it. I really do. We are doing the best we can for the kids.”
Lopez continued, “It’s very dignified and trying to be above all the emotions and pain that come along with a divorce and a family breaking apart. This is grown-up stuff. It’s real, serious, grown-up stuff.”
Lopez explained, “They do something to you where you want to do everything right for them…And obviously no parent does everything right. It’s this weird thing that happens where you are striving to be as good as you can be so that they turn out well.”
She added, “That requires that you be a really great, evolved, aware person in every moment. Which is pretty awesome. But it’s also putting tremendous pressure on yourself—which is why women feel so guilty!” Jennifer then admitted that her ex husband Marc Anthony has been vital in building her self confidence.
Lopez continued, “He always told me what a beautiful voice I have. He was like, ‘It’s in there; you just gotta let it out. It’s a confidence thing with you.’ Then all of a sudden one day I was like, I’m good at this!”
The full interview is in the April edition of Vogue magazine.
American Idol judge Steven Tyler has revealed that he believes that he is the reason that his band Aerosmith became so great. Steven claims that his drive for perfection pushed the rest of the band to up their game and in return they made great music.
Tyler explained, “I’m going to be big-headed right now, OK?. I think my perfectionism and my busting everyone’s chops is what got this band to where it is today. In the end, I get a really good song and in the end, I get the hits. Yeah, I’m that good.”
Meanwhile, his Aerosmith bandmate Joey Kramer added, “When you ask what makes the band great, I think that it’s a combination of all of us, Steven making it greater. It takes somebody so over the top and in our case with our lead singer, Steven Tyler, who’s this amazingly gifted musician.”
Steven Tyler is currently in the process of the latest season of American Idol but once the season has finished, Aerosmith are set to embark on a new major tour. It will be the first major tour that Aerosmith have done with Steven Tyler since 2009.
Are you looking forward to seeing Aerosmith back touring with Steven Tyler?
The original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has finally ended months of speculation regarding her personal life, by admitting that she is currently in a relationship with an unnamed boyfriend. Kelly also admitted that she has been seeing the mystery man for quite a while.
Clarkson explained, “I have a new boyfriend. Well, not a new one. I haven’t dated in a while. Nobody’s asked me flat out if I have a boyfriend.” Kelly continued by admitting that, while she has not revealed that she has a boyfriend, she has never said that she does not have one either.
She added, “They’re just like, ‘We heard you’re engaged!’ and I’m like, ‘No, I’m not engaged,’ so I just haven’t actually given the whole truth.” There has recently been a lot of talk surround Kelly Clarkson and her relationship status, with many people questioning her sexuality.

Singer, actress and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has revealed how she believes that she is a very tough girl, despite the fact that she has a kind heart. Jennifer admitted that, coming from the Bronx, she has always been fairly tough and knows how to handle herself, even comparing herself to a championship boxer.
Lopez explained, “I’ve always felt like a tough girl from the Bronx, but I have a soft core. I can take a lot of punches and still keep going. I’ve been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds. She then went on to discuss how she felt about some of the lower points of her career, in both singing and acting.
Jennifer added, “You’re not going to hit the target or the bull’s-eye every time. That’s part of it. At the end of the day, I made those choices. I’ve been in the business now, I don’t want to say how many years. You have amazing moments of recognition and success. But at this point in my life, I try to take it all with a grain of salt.” Jennifer Lopez can currently be seen on TV in the latest season of American Idol.
Former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert is without doubt one of the nicest people in the music industry today. Adam has written his fair share of love songs in his time and has revealed some of the key aspects to writing a good love song. Adam claims that the best time he feels that he writes good love songs, is when he is actually in love.
Lambert explained, “I think It’s easier to write songs about being in love, when you’re in love. There are songs that were inspired by finding partnership and intimacy. There are some songs on the album that I wrote based on notes before I was in my current relationship about past experiences and past feelings of loneliness and heartbreak.”
He added, “I think the light side of the album was easier to write when I was in love and the dark side of the album was easier to write when I was feeling sorry for myself.” Adam Lambert is set to release his new single Better Than I Know Myself on March 11, 2012 and his brand new album Trespassing is set to follow the new single in the Spring.
