Andy Murray aiming for Queen’s Club title number three
Andy Murray aiming for Queen’s Club title number three

British tennis player Andy Murray has revealed how he is eager to win for the third time at the Queen’s Club when he returns there this June. Andy first won the trophy three years ago without dropping a single set and then won it again last year in rather impressive fashion, during the entertaining, rain delayed final against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Murray explained, “It’s a big deal and I’d love to win it again this year. I’m excited to be going back to Queen’s Club. It’s a great tournament and the grass courts are as good as anywhere in the world, so it’s the perfect preparation for Wimbledon. There’s always a great atmosphere and having won the trophy twice previously, I have nothing but good memories.”

If Andy Murray does manage to bag himself a third Aegon Championships title at the Queen’s Club in June, he will be the first British player to do so since FG Lowe, who lifted the trophy for a third and final time in 1925. It is a big year for British tennis, with Wimbledon taking place a week after Queen’s and then the Olympic tennis starts on July 28 at the All England Club.
Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal talk Australian Open final
Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal talk Australian Open final

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal took part in one of the greatest finals in the history of the Australian Open and the two men have been talking about that epic match. Winner Novak Djokovic admitted that it was possibly his greatest victory to date, while Rafa Nadal claims that he suffered from it but that it was well worth it.

Nadal explained, “You look around and you see the watch, five hours, four hours, three hours, finally five hours 53. It seems like it’s never going to finish. But it’s nice to be there fighting, trying to go to the limit. It’s something I really enjoy and I always said it is good to suffer. When you are fit and have passion for the game you are able to enjoy suffering.”

Djokovic added, “Wimbledon is right up there because it was the tournament I always wanted to win but this comes out on top because we played for almost six hours, it was incredible. It was the longest grand slam final of all time. Just hearing that fact makes me cry. I am very proud to be a part of history, to be among the elite group of players who have won this trophy several times.”

He continued, “I had a lot of chances to win it in four sets but he deserved to prolong it and then really both of us could have won the match, it could have gone either way.” Both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will be going all out for victory at this year’s Wimbledon tournament, which begins in June.

Jay Z and Adele to work together
It has been suggested that ‘Empire State of Mind’ rap legend Jay Z has been talking about a possible future collaboration with ‘Make You Feel My Love’ British artist Adele. Jay Z has been in the UK recently, while his wife Beyoncé prepared for her Glastonbury gig on Sunday and it is believed that he has been talking with music bosses about the possible duet.

A source explained, “Jay has been making the most of his trip over here. It’s not often he is overwhelmed by people when he meets them, but Adele was on top form as usual. She talked him under the table. He was chuckling all the way through their chat.” The insider then added, “He’s keen to work with her, whether it’s producing or writing together. She was a huge hit in the States and he believes they could make a massive record together. He told her he was going to Glastonbury and she gave him a guide of what to see. She said he must catch Paolo Nutini. She said he was the must-see act of the festival.”

It is also believed that Jay Z is keen to work with Scottish singer Paolo Nutini, after managing to catch the singers set at Glastonbury over the weekend. Jay Z also used some of his free time in the UK to take advantage of some rare good weather and attend the Wimbledon tennis championships yesterday (June 27).

Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoy Wimbledon
Prince William and his beautiful wife Kate Middleton took advantage of the wonderful weather today in London, as they spent the afternoon together watching the tennis at Wimbledon. The couple received a welcoming ovation from the crowd as they took their seats in the royal box.

Kate seemed to follow the tradition that the players have to follow by wearing a white, Alice Temperley, dress. The players at Wimbledon are still required to wear predominantly white clothing, while participating in their matches at the Lawn Tennis Association.

Prince William and Kate Middleton called off their planned trip to Canada and Los Angeles, to attend today’s tennis on centre court. While there they would have had plenty to cheer about as British player Andy Murray progressed to the quarter finals in straight sets. Murray bowed to the royal after his victory as a sign of respect for the royal couple.
