One Direction singer Niall Horan has admitted that he has not been on many dates in his life but he is still only 18 years old, so has plenty of time to do so. Niall did, however, admit that he is better than most guys at understanding women, as he is a very emotional person.

Horan explained to OK magazine, “I’m an emotional guy, so I don’t have to worry about that.” He added, “I’ve not actually been on too many dates. I just like sitting at home, chilling and watching a movie.”

Meanwhile, Niall Horan’s One Direction bandmate Harry Styles admitted that he has developed a fondness of the girls in the US, claiming that they are hot. Harry said, “I can answer that. I will say that American girls are hot!”

One Direction are currently enjoying huge success around the world, especially in the US, where they debut album Up All Night became the first debut album by a British group to go straight to number one on the Billboard album chart. One Direction were also recently invited to the White House by Michelle Obama but had to reject the offer.

It seems that everybody is looking to get a bit of credit for the huge success that British boyband One Direction are currently enjoying. One Direction are not only huge in the UK but they are also becoming huge in the US, where they recently entered at number one with their debut album Up All Night.

Now everybody is trying to get in on the One Direction success. Recently, former X Factor judge, Cheryl Cole, claimed that she is responsible for the success of One Direction, tweeting “Remember who really mentored you when @simoncowell wasn’t there LMAO!! #proudofyouboys.”

While there is a clear joking tone to the tweet, it was still unnecessary for her to tweet it, if she did not feel that way to some degree. However, current X Factor judge Louis Walsh was more blatant about wanting credit for the success of One Direction.

Louis said, “I just want it to be noted that I’m taking some of the credit because I helped put that band together.” However, i think everybody is in agreement that Simon Cowell has to take a lot of the credit, as well as the One Direction boys themselves and the songwriters involved in the Up All Night album.

One Direction are fast becoming one of the biggest British boybands of all time, as their debut album Up All Night went straight in at Number One on the US Billboard 200. Now the One Direction boys have been discussing their success with The AP and putting a lot of it down to the fans.

Harry Styles said, “We’re just five normal boys from the U.K. who’ve been given this opportunity, so we’re having a great time working very hard. It’s played a massive part. Twitter, Facebook and YouTube have been a large percentage of the reason we’ve been known outside of the U.K. … We owe a massive thank you to the fans.”

Niall Horan added that he wanted to play a joke on his mother but was unable to. He said, “I wanted to say we had lost out and that whole thing, but Billboard had posted it on their website so my cover was blown.” Niall then admitted that he was proud of being part of the boyband comeback.

He continued, “There’s nothing wrong with it. We are boys in a band. … People have it in their head that a boy band, that it’s everyone wearing white and sitting on stage. That’s one side of it. We’re trying to do something else.”

One Direction have become the first ever British band to come straight in at number one on the US album charts with their debut record Up All Night. One Direction singer Liam Payne has admitted that he and the rest of the One Direction boys are still struggling to believe what is happening.

Payne explained, “It still seems strange to say that, everything’s happened this quickly. We didn’t expect to be over here releasing an album. I don’t think it’s quite hit home yet. It’s just really surreal to think you were one of those five lucky people,” he said. “Anyone could have been chosen that day.”

He added, “We’re all still naive to the music industry. People tell you all these stats and tell you that you’re great, but you kind of just smile, because you don’t really understand it that much, so you just go with it, I suppose.”

One Direction’s debut album sold over 176,000 copies in its first week of sales, giving it the number one spot on the US Billboard 200. One Direction have been lined up to appear on Saturday Night Live on April 7.

It has been on the cards for the past few days now but it is finally official, One Direction have hit the number one spot of the US chart with their debut album Up All Night. That makes One Direction the first ever British group to go to straight to number one and they are so thrilled by their achievement.

Niall Horan explained, “We just found out that we are No.1 in America and as you can imagine, we are over the moon! When we got put together as a group, we couldn’t imagine ourselves coming to America, let alone releasing our album here, so for us to be sitting at the top of the US album charts is unbelievable. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us in the US.”

Harry Styles added, “We simply cannot believe that we are number one in America! It’s beyond a dream come true for us. We want to thank each and every one of our fans in the US who bought our album and we would also like to thank the American public for being so supportive of us.”

The X Factor creator Simon Cowell was one of the people responsible for getting One Direction to where they are today and he offered his congratulations to the boys. Simon said, “They deserve it. They have the best fans in the world.”

One Direction singer Zayn Malik has revealed how he is still in shock at how successful his boyband have become in such a short space of time. Zayn admits that he still has to pinch himself to make sure that it is all real and not just a dream, as One Direction go from strength to strength.

That would make One Direction more successful at this stage of their careers than the Spice Girls and, believe it or not, The Beatles. So it is no surprise that Zayn Malik seems to be struggling to take it all in. Zayn took to his official Twitter page to reveal his shock at the success of One Direction.

He wrote, “This time 2 years ago I was auditioning for the @thexfactor in Manchester.. I can’t believe all this has happened since!” Zayn Malik owes a lot of his success to Simon Cowell, who talked him in to returning to the stage during the dance phase of his audition, after Zayn walked out.

Blink-182 singer and bassist Mark Hoppus has revealed which one of their tracks he would play to an alien if he was ever to come across one. Mark revealed exactly which track he would choose but admitted that he believes the aliens would not be too bothered by the music, as they would be more concerned with the human anatomy.

Hoppus explained, “I think it would be Feeling This from our last record (Blink-182) or Up All Night from this record (Neighbourhoods). I feel the same about them and I think they draw from everything Blink-182 does. Probably Feeling This would be my final choice. I feel it really encompasses what we do as a band.”

He added, “I think they’d be more distracted by the fact that our sexual reproduction organs are the same as the organs that eliminate waste from our body. I think they’d be more distracted by that hypocrisy to really care about music.” This year marks the 20th anniversary for Blink-182 and to celebrate it they will be going on a world tour. The UK leg of the tour is set to begin on June 7 at Birmingham NIA.

One Direction have shocked a few people by being as successful as they already have been since appearing on the ITV singing competition The X Factor. However, the One Direction boys are not finished yet and are set to become even bigger and even more successful. One Direction singer Liam Payne has revealed how he found it quite difficult on their first gig, as they could not hear anything because of the screaming girls.

Liam explained, “It’s nice to be performing your own songs, because obviously we did the X Factor tour before, but now we’re doing our own music and it’s pretty different. The first gig we did, it was so hard to hear, because we were so close to the audience and there was so much screaming. So we were trying to pitch the songs, it’s so hard.” Payne then discussed the amount of input that the One Direction guys had on their album Up All Night.

He added, “We get quite a lot of control, we are lucky to have had a lot of control. We want to make our own sort of music and make it authentic, rather than just singing someone else’s songs.” One Direction have been touring the world since become one of the biggest boybands in the UK and recently returned from a trips to both the US and also to Paris, France.

An insider explained, “Kylie was in First Class and had to pass the lads as she turned left to take her posh seat. They were star struck when they plucked up the courage to say hello.” The insider continued by adding, “She was lovely to the boys and wished them all the success with their career. She told them she was a fan.”

One Direction were in the US recently to promote their debut single What Makes You Beautiful and their debut album Up All Night, which is set to be released in the US a lot earlier than expected, due to the high demand. The single will be released on February 14, with the album now coming on March 13. It is still early days but it seems that One Direction may just have cracked the US.

Liam Payne explained, “We go on tour with an American band called Big Time Rush in February.” He added, “They seem like great lads and we can’t wait. Mostly we can’t wait for hot weather to get a tan. We know America is tough so we want to work hard.”

Meanwhile, Niall Horan stated, “When we went before there were a lot of fans at the airport and at our hotel. They had come from all over the US.” While Harry Styles is excited about staying 17 for longer. He added, “We are on a plane to the US on my birthday. That means we’ll be going back in time so I stay 17.” One Direction signed a record deal with US label Columbia back in November last year.

It seemed that 2011 was set to be the year of One Direction, as everything they have done so far this year has seemed to turn to gold. They have already had a number one single, with their debut release What Makes You Beautiful and they have out sold everybody when it comes to their 2012 calendar. So everybody was expecting their debut album to also hit the top spot.

However, when One Direction released their debut album Up All Night, it was obvious that it was going to face stiff competition from Rihanna and her new album Talk That Talk. While many thought that One Direction would be able to more than hold their own against Rihanna in the UK, the We Found Love singer put the young boys back in their place.

Rihanna, who is signed to Def Jam, took this week’s number 1 album spot in the UK with Talk That Talk, while One Direction, who are with Simon Cowell’s label Syco, had to settle for second with Up All Night. Elsewhere, Michael Bublé slipped two places to number three, with Westlife at number four and Kate Bush rounding of the top five.
