The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy compares The Joker to Bane
The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy compares The Joker to Bane

Tom Hardy has grown and grown as an actor over the past few years and is now set to appear on the big screen in his biggest role yet, as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. The previous Batman movie The Dark Knight, saw the caped crusader facing The Joker, so how does Tom feel that Bane is different.

Hardy explained to Entertainment Weekly, “The Joker didn’t care-he just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and destruction, unscrupulous and crazy. Bane is not that guy. There’s a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane. There is a huge orchestration of organization to his ambition.”

Tom then went on to claim that The Dark Knight Rises is as much a standalone movie as it is the concluding part to the Christopher Nolan trilogy. He added, “It stands alone, yet completes a cyclical work. Think triplets instead of one child after another - The Dark Knight triplets.”

The Dark Knight Rises will mark the end of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and it is expected that the Batman franchise will once again get a reboot in a few years time. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway and is set to be released on July 20.

The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy discusses Bane’s voice

The Dark Knight Rises actor Tom Hardy, who is set to play the villain Bane in the upcoming Christopher Nolan Batman movie, has revealed how he believes that they have taken a big risk with the potential mumbling of Bane’s voice. However, Tom did admit that he believes the audience will soon be able to tune into the voice.

Hardy explained to Entertainment Weekly, “It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at - or it could be very fresh and exciting. The audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice. As the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting.”

Concerns arose about the sound of Bane’s voice when the six minute prologue was released earlier this year. It showed scenes of Tom Hardy as Bane but due to the mask and the accent, it was rather difficult to understand what was being said.

The Dark Knight Rises is the third and final movie in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and it will also be the last time that we see Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader. As well as Tom Hardy as Bane, Batman will also be up against Catwoman, who is played by Anne Hathaway.

The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20.
The Dark Knight Rises cinematographer Wally Pfister teases Batman plot
The Dark Knight Rises cinematographer Wally Pfister teases Batman plot

Cinematographer Wally Pfister has worked with director Christopher Nolan on a number of projects over the years and teamed up with him again for The Dark Knight Rises. It is the third and final instalment of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and Wally has been discussing what he can reveal about the plot of the movie.

Pfister explained to The Cinematographer, “Not much! It’s the continuing story of Batman, beginning where it left off last time, with Batman on the run and Gotham City facing continual problems. They realise they need Batman back, but there are new villains he has to tackle.”

He added, “What I can say is that Chris has gathered a lovely family ensemble cast – with Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne again, Gary Oldman back as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Michael Caine as Alfred. He has also reunited Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who we worked with on Inception.”

Wally added, “Chris came to me with the project, said it was the third and concluding part of a trilogy. He wanted there to be a bridge between The Dark Knight and this one. Batman movies have always been dark. So we’re covering some ground from the previous films, but there’s something new in this one. Chris also wanted to ‘up’ action. We’re shooting segments on IMAX again, and this will really elevate the visual aspect of the film.”

New The Dark Knight Rises Images

The third and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy is still a few months away yet. However, the closer we get to the release date, the more promotional material we are likely to see, such as these new The Dark Knight Rises images.

The images are from a set of The Dark Knight Rises standees, which are set to go on sale and help to promote the movie. They are not the most exciting images you will ever see but, nonetheless, they are The Dark Knight Rises images.

For anybody who is unfamiliar with standees, they are a large, self standing display, which companies send out during the promotion of their movie. The Dark Knight Rises standees show Christian Bale in a typical Batman pose, as well as two of Tom Hardy as Bane and one of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

Check out the images of The Dark Knight Rises standees and let us know what you think. The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released in both the US and the UK on July 20 and we for one, simply cannot wait!
Tom Hardy to play James Bond in Christopher Nolan 007 movie?
Tom Hardy to play James Bond in Christopher Nolan 007 movie?

The Dark Knight Rises actor Tom Hardy has revealed how he would love the opportunity to one day play the legendary character James Bond, hopefully with Christopher Nolan directing. Tom Hardy has become a fans favourite and would top many people’s list to replace Daniel Craig as 007 in the future.

Tom Hardy and Christopher Nolan have developed a very good relationship with each and have worked together on a number of movies. Now Tom has confirmed that a James Bond movie with Christopher at the helm would certainly interest him.

Hardy explained, “I’d love to play Bond with Chris Nolan (as a) director or something, it would be awesome.” Christopher Nolan has previously expressed a desire to direct a James Bond movie in the future, so we could well see Tom Hardy as James Bond one day.

However, it is unlikely that we will see Tom Hardy as James Bond anytime soon, as Daniel Craig is believed to be signed up for a few more 007 movies yet. The latest James Bond movie Skyfall is set to hit the big screen in the UK in October and then in the US in November.

Reese Witherspoon teaches her kids about Rihanna and Chris Brown domestic violence
Reese Witherspoon teaches her kids about Rihanna and Chris Brown domestic violence

Legally Blonde actress Reese Witherspoon has revealed she has tried to teach her children all about domestic violence and has used the case between Chris Brown and Rihanna as a teaching aide. Reese claims that she believes that all children should learn about domestic violence from a young age, in a bid to help stop it from happening in the future.

Witherspoon explained, “We talk about domestic violence and what that means. Although the concept is somewhat foreign to them, they’re starting to understand that this happens to families in our country and all throughout the world. My daughter knows what happened with Brown and Rihanna. My son knows as well. We talk about what is abuse. I think it’s important to talk to our daughters and our sons in order to educate them at an early age about what’s appropriate and what is absolutely not acceptable.”

Reese also admitted that she was becoming confused with parenting, as her daughter Ava approaches 13. She added, “I don’t know anything about teenagers, so I’m on a big learning curve here. This is the time where I start asking all my friends who have kids who are older, ‘What do you do about a cell phone? What are your rules about the computer? Is she allowed to go out with friends or is she not?’ So I learn a lot from other mothers.” Reese Witherspoon can be seen starring alongside Chris Pine and Tom Hardy in This Means War.
McG fought for Tom Hardy in This Means War role
McG fought for Tom Hardy in This Means War role

This Means War director McG has revealed how he fought to make sure that Tom Hardy was involved in the movie, as he believed that Tom would bring that something special to the role. McG claims that the studio questioned him on casting Tom Hardy but once he explained his reasons, the studio let him run with it.

McG explained, “I have casting directors that I trust completely. They turn me on to everybody early and they said you have got to look at this guy, Tom Hardy, and I did. And then once I met him I fought for him. And there wasn’t too much blowback from the studio, but there was a little bit where they said, ‘Why this guy?’ And I said, ‘Because he’s special. And it’s going to blow up. And he’s going to be exciting. And people are going to be talking about him’.”

He added, “So I’m very, very pleased we’ve got Tom. And he and Chris would jockey for the alpha lead position and I think that’s what makes the film special.” This Means War, which stars Tom Hardy, Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon, is currently out in the US and is set to be released in the UK on March 2.

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has revealed how she often seems to find her children being embarrassed by the things that she does. Reese, who has two children, 12 year old Ava and eight year old Deacon, with her first husband Ryan Phillippe, claims that her children cannot stand her fondness of country music or the fact that she likes to dance around to it.

Witherspoon explained, “It’s usually country music and my kids just plug their ears and pray for the song to end!” Reese then continued by adding, “The other day I was dancing around the house when they came in and literally stared at me like, ‘Oh my God, that’s so embarrassing.’ But I didn’t stop. You can’t stop dancing.”

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has praised her This Means War co star Chris Pine, claiming that he is one of the most charming people that she has ever had the pleasure to work with. Reese stated that he was such a nice guy, who was so humble and thankful, that it was a pleasure just to be around him.

Witherspoon explained, “Chris is very thoughtful and earnest. What I didn’t expect was this wonderful charismatic charm. He has a composure that’s lovely to be around. He’s really grateful for everything he has in his life.” Reese then went on to admit that one of the appeals of being involved in This Means War was the fact that it is a different pace of film to what she usually does.

She added, “It was a great opportunity to try something new, yet I felt like it had enough comedy that it felt fresh. Combining it with this very viable spy story made it feel new. But I had a few stunt doubles because there were things like driving cars, jumping off buildings, cars tumbling towards me, things on fire.” You can catch Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy in This Means War, which is currently playing in the US and is released in the UK on March 2.

Legally Blonde actress Reese Witherspoon has revealed how she finds it difficult not to laugh at things, even when the thing she is laughing it is not actually funny. Reese described the time that she was on the set with her This Means War co star Tom Hardy and she accidentally shot him in the crotch, causing her to double over in fits of laughter. Reese also recalled how somebody recently told her about their dog dying and again she felt the need to laugh.

Witherspoon explained, “I burst out laughing in the middle of the scene. It happens to me all the time and it’s terrible. My husband will fall down and I just start dying laughing because it’s so ridiculous and absurd. Somebody told me their dog died the other day and I had to stifle myself. It fell off the bed and hit its head. This is terrible; it’s not funny at all… I feel bad now.”

Reese Witherspoon recently praised her Water for Elephants co star Robert Pattinson for the way that he manages to deal with the amount of attention he gets from Twilight fans.
