Simon Cowell: Was Hiring Britney Spears For The X Factor A Big Mistake?
Simon Cowell: Was Hiring Britney Spears For The X Factor A Big Mistake?

Simon Cowell is reportedly concerned that his hiring of Britney Spears on The X Factor was a big mistake.

The pop singer recently joined the coveted judging panel of TV talent show, The X Factor US, on a highly publicised multimillion dollar contract. She holds the high profile post alongside Demi Lovato and returning stars Simon and L.A. Reid.

Britney sparked controversy for walking off set on her first day on the job last week, leaving an empty judging seat for over four contestant performances.

Although it is rumoured that Simon sanctioned such break allowances in Britney’s original deal, it is now said that the producer and music mogul regrets his decision.

“He wonders if hiring her was a mistake,” a source told Us Weekly magazine.

Simon, who is infamous for his harsh and sometimes cruel critiques, is also apparently shocked with Britney’s kind judging approach.

“[Britney] always said nice things, even telling one mediocre singer he could be ‘bigger than Justin Bieber.’ Simon was shocked!” the insider revealed.

Simon is considering how Britney will fare on the air later in the season, particularly in the live shows.

“I don’t know how she’s going to handle the live shows!” the source said.

Tulisa and Jessie J set to duet
Tulisa and Jessie J set to duet

It has been reported that The X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos and The Voice coach Jessie J are set to team up together and collaborate on a song. While the two singers are working on rival television shows, that has certainly not affected their desire to work together in music.

Contostavlos explained to Capital FM, “Oh definitely, definitely. I don’t know when but that will happen one day. I think it would sound wicked. I think it would sound female boss… bosses.”

Tulisa Contostavlos and Jessie J have been friends for many years and last year, before Jessie J became associated with the new BBC show The Voice, Jessie helped Tulisa to make her choices in the Judges Houses stage of The X Factor.

However, Tulisa has admitted that she has not given Jessie J any words of advice for her role on The Voice because she feels that Jessie is perfectly capable of doing a good job and knows exactly what is needed of her on such a show. Tulisa also admitted that she believes that Jessie J has her head screwed on.

Tulisa Contostavlos’ debut single Young is set to be released in the UK on May 6.
Simon Cowell knew One Direction would be huge
Simon Cowell knew One Direction would be huge

The X Factor creator Simon Cowell has revealed how he knew that One Direction would be a huge success, the moment they auditioned for the first time at his house in Spain. Simon claims that as they have grown they have improved and they will only get better.

Cowell explained to Rolling Stone, “When they came to my house in Spain and performed, after about a millionth of a second [I knew they’d be huge]. I tried to keep a straight face for a bit of drama for the show. I remember sitting next to this girl who I was working with. The second they left we jumped out of my chair and said, ‘These guys are incredible!’ They just had it.”

He added, “They had this confidence. They were fun. They worked out the arrangements themselves. They were like a gang of friends, and kind of fearless as well. The more I got to know them, the more I liked them and the more I trusted them. They had good taste and they understood the kind of group they wanted to be.”

Simon continued, “They didn’t want to be moulded. I’m not interested in working with people like that either. They had their own views and they all brought something special to the table.” It has recently been claimed that Simon Cowell will be returning to the UK version of The X Factor as part of a new twist.

The X Factor UK set for new twist

It has been claimed that the next season of the UK version of the hit reality singing competition The X Factor is set for a brand new twist. It seems that Simon Cowell is set to make a return to the UK version of The X Factor, as the Voice of God.

An insider explained to The Sun, “This is serious now for Simon. BGT losing out to The Voice is one thing, but he’s terrified this is going to have negative repercussions for The X Factor.”

The source added, “All options are being considered and having him as the Voice of God is one of them. He quite likes the idea. X Factor is Simon’s baby and he’ll do whatever he can to make it a success. He won’t let something like the Atlantic get in the way of things.”

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for The X Factor claimed, “Simon is closely involved with the show and its direction. Ideas for the new series are still being discussed.” The Voice of God would see Simon Cowell appear over Skype when a decision comes to deadlock, where he will choose who goes through and who goes home.
One Direction to change their name?
One Direction to change their name?

It seems that when The X Factor create their own groups, they do not fully research names enough. Last year’s X Factor winners Little Mix, were originally name Rythmix but had to change their name after it was revealed that there was already a charity with that name.

Not it seems that One Direction may have to change their name, after a US band came out to reveal that they already had the name One Direction before the British boyband were formed. The US One Direction now want the UK One Direction to change their name.

It is claimed that the US One Direction have legal documents, proving that they have had the name One Direction since 2009, which was before the British One Direction were put together on The X Factor. The US One Direction are also seeking £60,000 in damages and want three times the profit made by the British One Direction.

It seems that the US One Direction are trying their luck a little with their demands and the most likely outcome is that they will receive a nice pay off. It seems highly unlikely that the British One Direction will change their name. However, the US One Direction have certainly boosted their profile with this stunt.

One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, who had his big break with the reality singing competition The X Factor, is clearly still a fan of reality television and in particular Britain’s Got Talent. It also seems that there is one act in particular that Louis has taken a liking to.

19 year old, Irish wannabe, Ryan O’Shaughnessy appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, where he wowed the nation by performing the track No Name, which Ryan actually wrote himself about a long term crush. Louis was so impressed by this that he had to voice it to the world.

Tomlinson took to his official Twitter account to inform his followers, which have now almost reached two and a half million people. He tweeted, “Wow , just watched Ryan’s audition on BGT. Amazing talent.”

Ryan was delighted to receive such support from somebody who has come from a similar situation and took to his own Twitter account to thank the One Direction singer for his kind words. O’Shaughnessy replied, “@Louis_Tomlinson Thanks man! Really appreciate it ;)”.

Louis Walsh set to trash Cheryl Cole in new book?

It seems that Louis Walsh cannot let go of the fact that Cheryl Cole criticised his management skills while he was manager of the girl band Girls Aloud. Cheryl claimed that Louis was only in it for the money, which has made The X Factor judge very upset.

Walsh explained to Heat magazine, “What is she peddling this time? Eyelashes or hairspray? It’s definitely not her music! At least I am still on The X Factor and happy to be there. I’m a much better manager than she is a singer. She seems to be in the fashion business now, selling fake hair pieces, fake eyelashes, fake everything.”

He added, “Has anyone ever heard her sing live or a cappella? If she comes back on The X Factor, she needs to sing live this time. I don’t know why she’s started this war with me.”

Louis continued, “I’ve always liked her - she’s a very good looking girl, but obviously not the best singer in Girls Aloud. Nadine is - I always said that. Cheryl is a great clothes horse. Nice girl, but likes to get her own way. I’ve got two words to say: vocal lessons. When I write my book, I’ll tell the real story of Cheryl.”

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson discusses her body image

The X Factor winners Little Mix have had their lives turned upside down and every little thing scrutinised since appearing on the hit reality singing competition. Now, Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has revealed how she changed her diet slightly and managed to lose a little weight.

Nelson explained, to The Sun, “People are always commenting on how I look and it’s because I’m a girl. You never see men’s bodies being criticised in magazines.”

She added, “Once I came off the TV show everyone thought I was on a strict diet but I’d just stopped going to the ITV canteen every day, with fry-ups every morning and chips for lunch, so I lost quite a bit of weight. I’m not going to suddenly become skinny - we’re all different shapes and sizes in the band and people relate to us because we look normal.”

Jesy continued, “It’s one of the reasons we won the show. If I started to look like I’d lost two stone it would send out the wrong message.” The Little Mix girls recently admitted that they would never do any form of nude photo shoot.
Harry Styles discusses Louis Tomlinson bromance
Harry Styles discusses Louis Tomlinson bromance

One Direction singer Harry Styles has discussed the issue that many people have been talking about since the boyband made it big on The X Factor. Fans are always asking if Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are gay and, although they are not, they have been given an affectionate nickname.

Styles explained, “The fans call me and Louis ‘Larry Stylinson’ because we get on really well. The pair have moved in together, and Harry added: “Since we started at The X Factor house, me and Louis always said we wanted to move in together. That was pretty much it, it pretty much happened.”

He then discussed his life pre X Factor, adding, “I was in a band, we were called White Eskimo. There was a battle of the bands competition at school and we formed just for that and we ended up winning. I went to X Factor to get an honest opinion if I was any good or not. It was something I’d grown up watching, so for me to be on it was crazy.”

Harry continued, “When they said we should be in a band, I was completely up for it. You know, everyone enters a competition to try and get as far as they can. Either we left the competition as solo artists you carry on in a group.” He then discussed his new life in London.

He continued, “I actually really like London. Before X Factor, I hadn’t even been to London and now I’m living there, which is crazy.”
Simon Cowell to be nicer to wannabes?
Simon Cowell to be nicer to wannabes?

It has been reported that X Factor boss and Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell is set to be nicer to wannabes, in a bid to outperform The Voice. Simon is believed to have been very disappointed that Britain’s Got Talent was beat by The Voice in the ratings at the weekend and wants to put things right.

An insider explained to The Sun, “Simon wasn’t happy when he saw the ratings. He likes to be number one in everything he does. He has told producers they must make BGT even better. He is known as being a perfectionist and this will only renew his desire to beat The Voice.”

They added, “The big fear is that viewers will start seeing The Voice as the leading singing show. That would mean the best singers flocking to apply to it instead of The X Factor - and these shows live or die on their talent.”

The insider continued, “Simon always learns lessons. He will be seriously considering whether he has to be nicer to contestants. He has softened his Mr Nasty image over the years. But maybe now he needs to turn fully into Mr Nice. It’s clear viewers are starting to get a taste for more positive shows.”
Little Mix discuss possible nude appearance
Little Mix discuss possible nude appearance

The X Factor winners Little Mix have been discussing the possibility of appearing in any form of photo shoot nude, with all of them claiming it would never happen. The Little Mix girls claim that they would rather people judge them for their music.

Perrie Edwards explained to The Sun, “Not a chance, I don’t even have any sexy curves to show off - my chest is like flat pancakes. We’re only young as well. My mam would give us a slap if she saw me in my bra in a magazine.”

Jade Thirlwall then added, “I think you have to earn your sexual respect. We’re not exactly at the stage where we could get away with doing something like that and have people concentrate on our music. Little Mix's first single all naked? Can you imagine?”

Little Mix have come in for a lot of stick, since being formed on The X Factor, regarding their looks, with many fans making negative and derogatory comments about their appearance. However, this latest revelation shows that the girls have good heads on their shoulders and are a good role model for young girls to look up to.
