Joss Whedon gives blow by blow account of Black Widow vs Buffy fight
Joss Whedon gives blow by blow account of Black Widow vs Buffy fight

Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator and The Avengers director Joss Whedon has given a blow by blow account of how he thinks a fight between Buffy and Black Widow aka Natasha Romanoff would go.

Whedon explained to USA Today, “Buffy would go easy at first, but as soon as Natasha popped her with a Widow Sting, she’d start bringing some slayer brawn to the fray. Natasha’s fast, but a couple of good connects and she’s wobbling, possibly something broken — she whips out her glock and now Buffy’s dodging — right where Natasha wants her.”

He added, “Natasha shoots the cable holding the steel barrels and they tumble onto Buffy, nearly burying her — Buffy just arcs out of the way, grabbing the splintered cable and swinging directly onto Natasha, a bullet grazing her cheek as her feet land hard on the Russian’s shoulders, sending her back flat — crack! — on the floor, Buffy wrenching the gun away and tossing it, fist ready for the final strike.”

Joss continued, “Natasha, struggling to stay conscious, says the fight’s over. Buffy agrees, but Natasha explains: She poisoned Buffy hours ago. That waitress that brought her salad …? Natasha smiles. The poison is dormant — ‘til it’s activated by adrenaline. Buffy’s eyes narrow. ‘Too bad I didn’t use any.’ Wham! Natasha’s out for the count, and Buffy’s heading — slowly — to Willow for a mystical cleanse.  That’d be my first guess.”

Joss Whedon reveals the love behind The Cabin in the Woods

While Joss Whedon has been receiving a lot of attention for directing the upcoming Marvel movie blockbuster The Avengers, it seems that there is another project that he feels equally as strongly about. Joss co-wrote the movie The Cabin in the Woods with Drew Goddard, who directed the project and Joss claims that it was a labour of love.

Whedon explained, “It is a genuine labour of love, and it’s a love of creepy horrible things. It was a joy to write, really difficult to make, and then of course the studio went bankrupt and the roof caved in.”

He added, “That happened a couple of years ago - it just blossomed [since then], Lionsgate came and said, ‘By the way we love this’. They’ve done such a wonderful job with it and all of a sudden Drew and I are standing around going, ‘Oh, here we go!’ It’s an absolute joy.”

The Cabin in the Woods was shot way back in 2009 but its release was delayed due to the problems with MGM. However, The Cabin in the Woods, which stars Chris Hemsworth is finally set to hit the big screen this week.

Scarlett Johansson discusses Loki’s agenda in The Avengers

The Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson, who plays the character Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in the forthcoming Marvel movie, has given her views on the agenda that villain Loki has. Scarlett also praised actor Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in The Avengers.

Johansson explained, “I think that he has an agenda, and I think the best way to break up a group is by trying to manipulate the situation by going individually to each one of our characters and you kind of see that. He’s playing good cop/bad cop, but it’s just him in some way with each one of us.”

She added, “I think he’s trying to figure out a way to put holes in the team, trying to figure out a way to disassemble us in some way and manipulate us individually. I absolutely working with Tom. He’s such an incredibly… I don’t know.”

Scarlett continued, “There’s just a theatrical way about him that’s just a lovely way to work, especially when you’re living in this universe that’s larger than life reality in a sense, that kind of theatrical style is really appreciated I think. He’s just been great. I think he’s having so much fun with that character, and I don’t know. I think we all had our own interactions with his character.”

The Avengers is released on April 26 in the UK and May 4 in the US.

Joss Whedon reveals The Avengers shut down

The Avengers director Joss Whedon has revealed how the movie had to come to a bit of a standstill, after actor Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the movie, had an accident while performing a stunt.

Whedon explained to The Hollywood Reporter, “He’s an amazing fighter - his fight work is wonderful: precise, heroic, and you seldom have to double him. But one day, he just turned wrong and his whole body shut down.”

He added, “He could not do anything. He was in enormous pain, and we had to shut that sequence down and shoot it a couple of weeks later.” Jeremy Renner himself then went on admit that it was not only the physical stunts which he had some difficulties with.

Jeremy revealed, “I had to wrestle this stuffed-animal version of a wolf. I had to animate the wolf, and it took all this extra effort, and it’s like a street fight, just wrestling around in the snow with this stuffed animal slapping me in the face.”

Renner continued, “[For another scene], I had to degrade to near death in the movie, where I had to shake for many minutes, and it looks like it’s nothing, but when it’s over I was more sore than I was the entire shoot.” The Avengers is released in the UK on April 26 and the US on May 4.
Joss Whedon teases The Incredible Hulk death in The Avengers
Joss Whedon teases The Incredible Hulk death in The Avengers

The Avengers director Joss Whedon has teased fans that The Incredible Hulk dies in The Avengers but before you go too overboard about it, he was only kidding. Joss was talking about how long The Avengers movie is set to be and joked that The Hulk dies.

Whedon explained to Collider, “The Hulk dies. Oops. Oh God!” Before getting serious and discussing the running time of The Avengers. He added, “My first cut was three hours long and it’s now down to 2 hours and 15 minutes, and I’m extremely proud of that. I had always intended to go over two, under two and a half. There was no way a movie with this many great actors and this much epic scope was gonna clock in under two and not feel a little anemic, somebody wasn’t gonna get their moment if that happened.

Joss continued, “But at the same time, I get very angry that romantic comedies run over two hours long, it’s like ‘Guys, that’s not okay.’ More isn’t more. I don’t want anything in the movie that shouldn’t be. There are definitely things that it broke my heart to get rid of. There’s a lot of me that got cut out, but I think part of the process in a situation like this is you make the movie, you make your movie, then you remove yourself out of the equation.

He concluded, “At some point you stop looking beyond The Avengers movie at your own stuff, you don’t look at that horizon you look at this movie and you go, ‘You know what, The Avengers are more important than I am so these things that I’m obsessed with aren’t necessarily moving the story forward, and therefore they are baggage.’ You can do that in a TV show, you can bring your baggage and sort of lay it out because you have a season to do it, but in a movie you actually have to remove yourself from the equation a bit and when I was finally able to do that, I saw a much clearer road to how to get the best experience for the audience.”

The Avengers is released in the UK on April 26 and in the US on May 4.

She added, “Someone is having a wig removed. We all had our various things that we have to do to get comfortable. Everybody looked incredibly uncomfortable until the cameras are rolling. Then ‘Cut!’ and we’re all like, ‘Arrrgh… God, this thing, get it off me, it’s awful’.”

Is Jeremy Renner gay?
Is Jeremy Renner gay?

It seems that the Jeremy Renner gay rumours are actually beginning to get to the actor, who has spoken out to deny that he is homosexual. There have been a number of rumours regarding the sexuality of Jeremy Renner and it has often been suggested that he is gay but it appears that these rumours are completely false.

He added, “How about I go peek in your window, take what underwear you wore last night, whose husband you were f**king, and shove that in the megaphone throughout your neighbourhood? How does that feel?”

Jeremy continued, “Any person I touched during the Hurt Locker campaign, I was f**king. They had me f**king [my live-in business partner] Kristoffer Winters, my brother. Goddamn, I must be busy!”

Chris Hemsworth discusses The Avengers egos
Chris Hemsworth discusses The Avengers egos

The Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth, who is reprising his role as Thor in the Joss Whedon directed Marvel movie, has admitted that there was always going to be a clash of egos in The Avengers, considering how many huge superheroes there are, all on the same team.

Chris was asked by Collider if he thought that a clash would be inevitable, to which he replied, “Absolutely. I think that conflict is what makes it interesting. Having seen these people in the individual films, it’s probably pretty safe to say that a lot of the team coming together is having to be about them managing their own egos or each others, and how they fit in. What sort of part they fill.”

While there is set to be a clash of egos between the superheroes in The Avengers movie, director Joss Whedon has previously stated that there was no conflict between any of the actors on the set of the movie. In fact, Joss claimed that it was the most ego free set that he has worked on.
