Britney Spears close to signing X Factor US deal
Britney Spears close to signing X Factor US deal

After much speculation, it looks like Britney Spears could finally be closing in on a deal to be a judge on this years X Factor USA.

Britney is rumoured to be closing in on a deal to sign a $15million contract to join the judging panel of X Factor USA, it has been claimed. According to TMZ.com, Britney will soon be finalising her contract for the show, after her team work out the ‘fine points’ of the deal.

Once the contract has been agreed, it has to be approved by Britney’s father Jamie, who is also her conservator, before being approved by the judge who ‘oversees the conservatorship’.

However, a source told the gossip website that it is a ‘virtual certainty’ that the deal will go ahead. The report came after X Factor boss Simon Cowell admitted yesterday that he was desperate to have Britney join him and L.A. Reid on the panel for the new show, after Paula Abdul and Nicole Sherzinger were not asked to return as judges.

Talking to TMZ.com, Simon admitted he could not reveal too much about the negotiations, but did say that he is expecting to hear back from the Toxic singer’s people within the week. He said: ‘I would love to have her on the show … I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to.’ Watch this space!

Did Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell have an affair?
Did Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell have an affair?

If new claims are to be believed, the former X Factor judges Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell had a fling.  A new book entitled ‘The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell' claims that the 52 year old music mogul had a brief affair with former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue.

The book, written by former BBC journalist Tom Bower, suggests that Simon embarked on a romance with recently single Dannii when she joined the X Factor as the fourth mentor.

The book quotes Simon as saying: “I had a crush on her. It was Dannii’s hair, the sexy clothes and the t**s. I was like a schoolboy. She was foxy. She was a real man’s girl. Very feminine.”

The book also claims that Simon described Dannii as a “new toy” when she first joined the talent show, but that later he felt “genuine love” for her.

Both Dannii and Simon, who split from fiance Mezhgan Hussainy in September last year, were forced to deny rumours of a romance back in 2007, when a paparazzi shot appeared to show them holding hands in the back of a car. However, so far neither Dannii or Simon have responded to the new wave of claims. Watch this space.

Simon Cowell running scared of The Voice UK
Simon Cowell running scared of The Voice UK

It has been claimed that Simon Cowell is running scared of rival television show The Voice UK, after it was announced that Britain’s Got Talent will be pushed back half an hour to an 8:30pm start for Saturday, April 21. Now, a source at the BBC has claimed that it is a sign that Simon Cowell has accepted defeat.

A BBC insider explained to The Mirror, “Cowell tried to disrupt the launch of The Voice and failed and now he’s running scared. It’s great news for us and for TV viewers that there will be no overlap.”
Meanwhile, an ITV insider added, “Simon and ITV boss Peter Fincham hoped to ruin the start of The Voice but the clash has backfired spectacularly. By going to a later slot they are waving the white flag.”
The insider added, “Cowell will not be happy and hates to be second-best. He has never moved The X Factor for Strictly Come Dancing and is used to calling the shots. This is very much a first - and a humiliating one at that.”
The Voice UK and Britain’s Got Talent are set to go head to head again this weekend, with The Voice starting their 80 minute episode at 7pm on BBC One, while Britain’s Got Talent starts at 8pm on ITV1.

There has been a lot of discussion about who the two new female judges are likely to be on the new season of The X Factor USA. One of the names that keeps on popping up is Britney Spears but a few weeks ago it seemed as though Britney had priced herself out of the running.

However, a source who is said to be close to the involvement of the negotiations has told Deadline that Britney Spears and Simon Cowell have come ever close to an agreement. It is believed that Britney will earn $15m to be the new judge on The X Factor USA, which surpasses the $12m earned by Jennifer Lopez on American Idol.
While there is still another judge to be signed on for the second season of The X Factor USA, it is believed that Simon Cowell and his team have focussed all of their efforts on getting Britney Spears to sign up for the show.
Some of the other names linked to The X Factor USA judging panel are Black Eyed Peas star Fergie, who has denied being interested in the role, and LeAnn Rimes, who is believed to have had preliminary talks with the producers of the show.
The X Factor USA season two is set to air on Fox in September.
US One Direction will not be pushed around
US One Direction will not be pushed around

The US band One Direction, who are seeking legal action against the UK One Direction, have claimed that they will not be pushed around. The band are claiming for $1m in damages, as well as three times the profits that the UK One Direction have earned so far.

Dan O’Leary, the US One Directions manager, explained to The Sun, “We won’t be pushed around. I don’t care how powerful Simon Cowell is. He’s mad if he thinks we’re going to lie down, sit down or back down over this - whatever power and money he has behind him. We’re not going to be pushed around by some music mogul. The British One Direction have Mr Cowell’s enormous resources behind them. We on the other hand do not.”
He added, “In our view, we were here first. We have rights, we have talent, and we have heart. It’s black and white what’s been done. We asked Simon Cowell to change their name before they came here. But they ignored us, and now we’re reluctantly at this point of legal action.”
Dan continued, “The facts are that we were first to use the name ‘One Direction’. We’ve been using it since November 2009 when, with big dreams and no money, we started to distribute demo CDs. The British band did not come together as a group until almost a year later. We were the first to record an album.”
He then went on to wish the UK One Direction well. “To Zayn, Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis, we wish you all well, and many years of success. There should be plenty of room for both bands to grow and thrive. We hope that this dispute will be resolved soon, and then all of us can focus on what we do best - making music,” he said.
Who do you think should keep the One Direction name?
Simon Cowell knew One Direction would be huge
Simon Cowell knew One Direction would be huge

The X Factor creator Simon Cowell has revealed how he knew that One Direction would be a huge success, the moment they auditioned for the first time at his house in Spain. Simon claims that as they have grown they have improved and they will only get better.

Cowell explained to Rolling Stone, “When they came to my house in Spain and performed, after about a millionth of a second [I knew they’d be huge]. I tried to keep a straight face for a bit of drama for the show. I remember sitting next to this girl who I was working with. The second they left we jumped out of my chair and said, ‘These guys are incredible!’ They just had it.”
He added, “They had this confidence. They were fun. They worked out the arrangements themselves. They were like a gang of friends, and kind of fearless as well. The more I got to know them, the more I liked them and the more I trusted them. They had good taste and they understood the kind of group they wanted to be.”
Simon continued, “They didn’t want to be moulded. I’m not interested in working with people like that either. They had their own views and they all brought something special to the table.” It has recently been claimed that Simon Cowell will be returning to the UK version of The X Factor as part of a new twist.

The X Factor UK set for new twist

It has been claimed that the next season of the UK version of the hit reality singing competition The X Factor is set for a brand new twist. It seems that Simon Cowell is set to make a return to the UK version of The X Factor, as the Voice of God.

An insider explained to The Sun, “This is serious now for Simon. BGT losing out to The Voice is one thing, but he’s terrified this is going to have negative repercussions for The X Factor.”
The source added, “All options are being considered and having him as the Voice of God is one of them. He quite likes the idea. X Factor is Simon’s baby and he’ll do whatever he can to make it a success. He won’t let something like the Atlantic get in the way of things.”
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for The X Factor claimed, “Simon is closely involved with the show and its direction. Ideas for the new series are still being discussed.” The Voice of God would see Simon Cowell appear over Skype when a decision comes to deadlock, where he will choose who goes through and who goes home.
Little Mix girls focussed on career rather than finding love
Little Mix girls focussed on career rather than finding love

The Little Mix girls have revealed how they are fully focussed on making the most of their careers since winning The X Factor and do not really have time for romantic relationships. The girls are certainly not short of offers but they do not want to sacrifice their success for love.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock explained to The Sun, “Each of us are the most important thing to us right now. We’re very career-orientated. With all of this going on we don’t have time for boyfriends.
She added, “The strangest thing recently is having guys at concerts who are interested in us. At the beginning it had been all girl fans, so we’re not very good with that kind of attention yet.
Pinnock continued, “Someone grabbed Jade’s arm at our concert the other night and shouted, ‘I want you!’ She just kind of screamed and ran on to the stage. We all burst out laughing.”
Little Mix recently claimed that Simon Cowell was hoping that they can become as big as One Direction.
Simon Cowell to be nicer to wannabes?
Simon Cowell to be nicer to wannabes?

It has been reported that X Factor boss and Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell is set to be nicer to wannabes, in a bid to outperform The Voice. Simon is believed to have been very disappointed that Britain’s Got Talent was beat by The Voice in the ratings at the weekend and wants to put things right.

An insider explained to The Sun, “Simon wasn’t happy when he saw the ratings. He likes to be number one in everything he does. He has told producers they must make BGT even better. He is known as being a perfectionist and this will only renew his desire to beat The Voice.”
They added, “The big fear is that viewers will start seeing The Voice as the leading singing show. That would mean the best singers flocking to apply to it instead of The X Factor - and these shows live or die on their talent.”
The insider continued, “Simon always learns lessons. He will be seriously considering whether he has to be nicer to contestants. He has softened his Mr Nasty image over the years. But maybe now he needs to turn fully into Mr Nice. It’s clear viewers are starting to get a taste for more positive shows.”
The X Factor UK to replace Dermot O’Leary with Caroline Flack and Olly Murs?
The X Factor UK to replace Dermot O’Leary with Caroline Flack and Olly Murs?

It is no secret that The X Factor boss Simon Cowell is a fan of having both a male and female host for his shows both in the UK and in the US. Simon initially had Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger as host on The X Factor USA but things changed once Cheryl Cole was sacked from the judging panel and Nicole replaced her.

However, Simon has since sacked Steve Jones as the host of The X Factor USA and has admitted that he is looking to bring on board a male and a female to present the next season of the show. Now it appears that Simon could well be looking to do the same with the UK show.
While Dermot O’Leary is set to host this year’s X Factor in the UK, it has been claimed that it will be his last and that he will be getting replaced by The Xtra Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs for next year’s season of the hit reality singing show.
It seems like a bold move by Simon Cowell, as Dermot O’Leary is a huge hit with almost everybody who watches the show. Meanwhile, Caroline Flack lost quite a few female fans when she dated One Direction singer Harry Styles. Simon Cowell has yet to confirm the rumour and is unlikely to until next year.

Tulisa Contostavlos gets The X Factor pay rise

It has been reported that Tulisa Contostavlos has been given a big pay rise to return for another season of the UK version of the hit reality singing competition The X Factor. It is believed that Tulisa is being paid £500,000 to return, after Simon Cowell sorted the deal to ease any worry she may have about her future.

A source told The Sun, “He’s conscious of the fact she’s had a rubbish time recently with the sex tape thing so he figures getting a new deal sorted will be one less thing for her to worry about.”
The insider added, “Tulisa is in line for a decent bonus. She proved herself on the show and did a great job with Little Mix last year.” Meanwhile, a representative for Tulisa admitted that, while they do not discuss her finances, she has just paid out for a brand new car.
The rep said, “We don’t comment on Tulisa’s professional finances. However, she did recently buy a new car which she is delighted with.” The car in question is a brand new Audi Q7, which Tulisa is believed to have spent around £50,000 on when she purchased it with her current boyfriend Jack O’Connell.
