Django Unchained official movie poster and movie synopsis released

The new Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained is set to be released this year and we have now been given the official movie poster for the movie, as well as the official movie synopsis. The Weinstein Company has described Django Unchained as follows:

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, “Django Unchained" stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival…

Written and directed by Academy Award®-winner Quentin Tarantino, DJANGO UNCHAINED is produced by Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin. The executive producers are Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Michael Shamberg, Shannon McIntosh, and James Skotchdopole. DJANGO UNCHAINED will be released in the U.S. on December 25, 2012, and internationally by Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L Jackson, Kerry Washington, Sacha Baron Cohen and Kurt Russell. It is due to be released on December 25.
Madonna to become US president?
Madonna to become US president?

Singer Madonna has been answering questions from her fans, one of which asked her what she would do if she ever became president. Madonna was very clear on her choices, some of which many people would agree with and some, not so much.

Madonna explained, “Well, when I am the president, I will first of all take all the money spent on defence and put it into education, so that schoolteachers get paid more money. It’s scandalous how low their pay is. Gay marriage would be legal everywhere and accepted. There would be no restrictions whatsoever on any of my videos, ever.”

Madonna then went on to address the fact that her music video for the single Give Me All Your Luvin was given an 18 certificate by YouTube, as it contained the 53 year old singer grinding.

She added, “I’m supposed to be a girl gone wild in the video! How could you go wild and not grind? This is the question that people should be asking.” Madonna also discussed how she would love to have a music video directed by the legendary Quentin Tarantino.

Would you vote for Madonna to become president?
Sylvester Stallone compares Rambo and Rocky
Sylvester Stallone compares Rambo and Rocky
Sylvester Stallone has probably become most famous for take two major movie franchises, Rambo and Rocky, and running them for longer than he should have. Now, Sylvester has been comparing his two most recognisable movie names and admits that there is a little of himself in both.

Stallone explained, “Rambo is me before coffee in the morning. Rocky is me after coffee. Rambo has reverted into kind of like an id: primitive, reactive and instinctual, almost like an animal. I love this character because he hasn’t quite been fleshed out. He’s like an errant knight, looking to die in a glorious fashion. He has no desire to go into old age or have a family.”

He added, “Rocky is the antithesis: he cannot live without family. So you’ve got the American Frankenstein monster, then you have the American Dream. In the book, Rambo gets killed. I thought it was not the proper message. There had been close to 200,000 suicides by returning Vietnam vets. I said, ‘Why don’t we take him right to the edge without annihilating him?’”

Sylvester continued, “Quentin Tarantino said, ‘You’re a coward, you should have killed him!’ I said, ‘Quentin, you’re a lunatic. I want to do some sequels, brother.’”

Who do you prefer, Rambo or Rocky?
Plan B inspired by Shane Meadows and Quentin Tarantino
Plan B inspired by Shane Meadows and Quentin Tarantino

Plan B, who is really called Ben Drew, is set to unleash his directorial debut later this year, with the East London drama Ill Manors. Ben has revealed how he takes massive inspiration from some of Hollywood’s top directors, when it comes to directing his own movies and two director’s in particular have really sat well with Ben. They are Shane Meadows and Quentin Tarantino.

Drew explained, “Shane Meadows too. After I shot my short film, I realised it was the parts that we improvised, not the ones I wrote, that was where the magic happened. So I wanted to find out more about Shane Meadows, ‘cause I knew he did that, and watched the bonus footage on the This Is England DVD, and reading about his process. They worked from a treatment, and improv-ed dialogue before they shot the film. So the references were Nicolas Winding Refn, and the man, Shane Meadows.”

He added, “And Quentin Tarantino, how he can make something mundane, two people talking complete f**king s**t, but make it interesting. You can go to a pub and sit at the bar, with some really charismatic f**king joker, and listen to him just talk.” Plan B will be releasing his directorial debut Ill Manors on May 4, 2012.

Top 5 movie posters of all time
Top 5 movie posters of all time

Movie posters are a great way to get people excited about the movie way before the movie is even due to be released and there have been some fantastic movie posters over the years. Some of the posters have been very simplistic but also very iconic at the same time. Some posters have been very complicated and have taken time and effort to be put together. And some have been very clever, giving an idea of what the movie is about in a rather cryptic way that does not give too much away. Here we give you our top 5 movie posters of all time.

5. Alien

The Alien movie franchise is one of the most successful of its time and of all time and it all began with the first movie Alien back in 1979. The poster was raved about back then and is still talked about among movie fans today. It simplicity told so much and the tag line “In space no one can hear you scream” is one of the most icon tag lines of all time.

4. Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs hit the back screen back in 1992 and is arguably the best movie to be written and directed by the super talented Quentin Tarantino. The poster tells you all you need to know before taking your seat and enjoying 99 minutes of action and mayhem. The icon scene of the five men in their suits sets the poster off perfectly and will never be forgotten.

3. Ghostbusters

As with Alien, it is the simplicity of the 1984 Ghostbusters poster that makes it so standout and special. Again, the tag line “Who you gonna call?” is one that people all around the world are familiar with. Then there is the picture in the middle of the poster. People will know exactly what movie you are talking about just based on that picture alone. A classic movie poster.

2. Hard Candy

Now we get to the clever posters. Hard Candy was released in 2005 and the poster for the movie was a work of genius. Those of you who have seen the movie will understand just how clever it is. The Little Red Riding Hood reference gives a sense of innocence to the girl but the fact that she actually is not in the trap is the part that is so clever. We do not want to give anything away to those who have not seen it, but once you have, you realise the genius of this poster.

1. The Truman Show

The best movie poster of all time has to be The Truman Show, which was released back in 1998. Not only is The Truman Show one of the best movies that Jim Carrey has ever done but the poster is absolutely amazing. When you first look at The Truman Show movie poster, it just appears to be the face of the titular character. However, once you get a closer look, you realise that the picture is made up of other tiny pictures of Truman. The time, the effort and the end result, all make The Truman Show movie poster our favourite of all time. EVER! (Until a better one comes out)
