Amy Winehouse had prescribed drugs in her system on her death

After it being seven weeks since the death of Amy Winehouse, TMZ.com is reporting that Amy Winhouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse revealed that the late singer had prescribed drugs in her system on her death.
Mitch Winehouse, who was joined by his Wife, Amy Winehouse’s mother, was interviewed by Anderson Cooper  for CNN. During the candid chat with Cooper, Mitch is said to of explained that Amy Winehouse did have the drug Librium in her body when she died. The drug Librium is a prescribed substance that is given when a patient is overcoming alcohol detoxification, and is used to reduce seizures in those who suffer from them.
The interview was very focused on ridding the rumours that Amy Winehouse did NOT die of illegal drugs in her system, Mitch Winehouse said “everyone thought I was in denial, but I wasn’t, she hadn’t taken drugs for three years.” Mitch was very
keen to point to the toxicology report presented that confirmed that.
The interview appears to have severed a bigger purpose and that was for awareness of the Amy Winehouse Foundation which is due to officially launch on the September 14th 2011.

The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations, and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest.”
