Taylor Lautner reveals his Hollywood idols

Twilight actor Taylor Lautner has revealed how he hopes to still be working as a big screen actor in ten years and he hopes that he can get a variety of roles over the years. Taylor admits that he looks up to some of Hollywood’s top actors and that he hopes that he is able to try and replicate what they have done with their careers.

Lautner explained, “If I’m still acting in ten years that would be amazing, and I just want to continually challenge myself to do something different. If I look at the actors who I’ve looked up to my entire life - the likes of Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio - they’ve always played a variety of roles. That’s the dream.”
 
You can next see Taylor Lautner on the big screen reprising his role as Jacob Black for the final time, when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is released. He is also expected to appear in the movie Incarceron, which centres around a young boy who has been imprisoned but becomes close to the wardens daughter, the two discover a key which could lead to freedom for them both. Incarceron is expected to be released next year.

When it was announced that another Bourne movie was going to be made, everybody expected to see the return of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne along with director Paul Greengrass. However, this was not the case and instead we have Jeremy Renner starring in The Bourne Legacy, with Tony Gilroy stepping up to the plate as director. Jeremy has since taken the time to shed some light on the matter.

Renner explained, “My character is called Aaron Cross but he ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, The Bourne Legacy has that same ticking clock, but it’s a new programme and new characters. Yeah, it’s that same deal, it’s just a new set of agents with a different leash. It’s the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you’ll know it’s a Bourne movie.”
 
As well as Jeremy Renner, The Bourne Legacy also stars Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz and Joan Allen. The Bourne Legacy is currently still in the filming stages, with a release date currently set for August 3, 2012 in the US and August 17, 2012 in the UK.

13 year old actress Elle Fanning has revealed how she was often getting mistaken for her sister Dakota Fanning and did not feel that she was getting the recognition that she deserved. However, Elle has admitted that since appearing in Somewhere, things have changed somewhat.

Fanning explained, “Before Somewhere, they asked me if I was Dakota Fanning, because we looked alike, and I’d say, ‘No, I’m her younger sister’. And they’d say, ‘Oh, okay’. But now I think they are starting to realise I’m my own person.”
 
She added, “After Somewhere came out, people started to recognise me more. Whenever I was walking down the street, they’d be like, ‘Oh, wow, are you Elle Fanning?’” Elle Fanning can next be seen on the big screen alongside Scarlett Johansson and Matt Damon in We Bought a Zoo, which is released on December 23.

Bourne trilogy actor Matt Damon has revealed that, despite not appearing in the latest Bourne movie, he hopes that he and director Paul Greengrass will make a return to the franchise. Matt admitted that he is looking forward to seeing how Jeremy Renner does as Bourne but he is hoping to return in the future.

Damon explained, “I was always fine with them doing another Bourne movie as long as it didn’t preclude me and Paul from doing another Bourne. From what I understand, it doesn’t at all, so that’s fine. I really want to do another one with Paul and I’m sure it’ll happen someday, but for now they’re doing this. I’m keeping hope.”
 
Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner, is directed by Tony Gilroy. The movie also stars Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz and Albert Finney. Bourne Legacy is currently filming and is expected to be released on August 3, 2012. Would you like to see Matt Damon return as Bourne?

John Krasinski helps pen Matt Damon directorial debut

It appears that Matt Damon has abandoned his usual screenwriting partner Ben Affleck in favour of working with Something Borrowed actor John Krasinski. Although Matt and Ben do also have another project together waiting in the pipelines.

Matt Damon and John Krasinski have teamed up to co write the screenplay for the, as of yet untitled movie, which Damon will also be directing. It will be Matt Damon’s first attempt at directing and it is believed that both actors will also appear in the movie.
 
The movie is set to centre around a salesman, who moves to a small town, forcing him to re-evaluate his life. It is expected that Matt Damon will play the salesman. The movie is expected to begin shooting early next year with a 2013 release date on the cards.

Sherlock Holmes actor Jude Law has revealed the reasons why he agreed to take on the role of Alan Krumwiede in his latest movie Contagion. Jude admitted that the fact that the script was so well written and such a high profile director was on board made the decision much easier.
 
Law explained, “A lot of the reason I wanted to be a part of this project was because the script was so strong, and obviously a strong script and a brilliant director like Steven (Soderbergh), you feel, as an actor, confident that you’re almost halfway there.”
 
Contagion centres around a deadly disease which is spreading across the country and the group of experts that are faced with finding a cure. The movie also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon and Kate Winslet. It is already out in the US and is due out in the UK on October 21.

Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion knocks The Help off box office top spot

Contagion, a thriller about a virus, directed by Steven Soderbergh and staring a bounty of Oscar winners takes top spot in the US box office as expected.
 
The thriller has rocketed to the top of the US box office with an impressive opening weekend takings of $23m The film has an impressive cast which includes Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Laurence Fishburne.
 
This impressive opening weekend is in complete contrast to the weekend Adam Sandler had with his written and produced comedy, Bucky Larson: Born To Be A Star, which came in at 15th with a total takings of $1.5m, working out at an average of 9 people per show.

Inception actress Marion Cotillard has revealed what fans can expect to see from her character, when she appears in the movie Contagion, which is released next month. Marion also expressed her joy at getting to work with such talented people, from the director to the cast.
 
Cotillard explained, “My character, Dr Leonara Orantes, is someone who goes in the field, her job is to find the indexed patient, to find the origin of the virus. So she tracks the virus where she thinks it started, to try to understand where it comes from; it terms of was it from an animal? Was it in the water? Where did it come from? To try to eradicate this virus.”
 
She then added, “To work with somebody like Steven Soderbergh is really amazing to me, and of course being a part of such an amazing cast. It’s still very amazing to be in a movie with them.” Contagion also stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslett and Gwyneth Paltrow. The movie is released in the US on September 9 and in the UK on October 21.
