Christina Applegate to return for Anchorman 2
Christina Applegate to return for Anchorman 2

It has been reported that actress Christina Applegate, who played the character Veronica Corningstone in the comedy movie Anchorman, is set to reprise her role for the sequel. Anchorman 2 director Adam McKay has claimed that he has been throwing around some story ideas and Veronica is involved.

McKay explained to The Hollywood Reporter, “We have an idea for her that we think is pretty cool,” he said. “So tentatively right now she’s in. But obviously we kind of have to let it be what it’s gonna be. We don’t want to handcuff ourselves, but we love Applegate, so any chance to work with her is always fun.”

He added, “I’ll tell you we’re staying roughly period. I would just say it’s the next stage in the development of American media and news. The fun of these characters is they confront change very poorly. So they’ve got some more change coming their way. I can say that pretty safely.”

Anchorman 2 producer Judd Apatow recently admitted that he did not think that the sequel would take anything away from the original movie.

Anchorman 2 is set to begin shooting in February 2013.

Anchorman 2 producer Judd Apatow has admitted that he is looking forward to seeing what Will Ferrell and Adam McKay come up with for the highly anticipated sequel. Judd also stated that he does not expect Anchorman 2 to affect how people view the original Anchorman movie.

Apatow explained to The Huffington Post, “We’re talking about shooting that next year, and Will [Ferrell] and Adam [McKay] are off writing. We always knew we wanted to do a sequel, and the great thing about Anchorman is that you could do a sequel when they’re any age.”

He added, “I’ve never been somebody who thinks that you should worry about the second one ruining the reputation of the first one. I still like Caddyshack. I don’t mind that Caddyshack 2 wasn’t as good as Caddyshack 1. It doesn’t ruin Caddyshack for me. But I’m glad they made Godfather 2 and Back to the Future Part II and Part III.”

Judd continued, I always say go for it. All of these actors and writers on Anchorman have such an incredible chemistry, it would be a waste for them not to work together again. I’m glad they are trying. Nobody in the world is funnier than Will and Adam, so I’m excited to see what they write.”

She added, “People like myself do not like spending money, I do not like to spend for myself, I love spending for the person I love and care I began to spend money after I met Brian. Bridesmaid sequel is go, Kristen Wiig is no

It has been reported that a sequel to the surprise hit of 2011, Bridesmaids is all set to go ahead and that the ball will start rolling on it this year. That means that Bridesmaids 2 could be set to have a whole new cast of Bridesmaids, although they are still discussing ideas for the sequel.

Bridesmaids producer Judd Apatow explained, “The key is we have to come up with an idea that is as good or better than the first one. We don’t want to do it unless it can be great. I don’t think anyone has had the brain space to think about it yet. Hopefully that can begin this year.” However, Kristen Wiig insisted that she would not be appearing in the Bridesmaids sequel.

Kristen explained, “We aren’t working on that. Co-writer Annie Mumolo and I aren’t planning a sequel. We are writing something else.” Universal are keen to cash in on the success of Bridesmaids and have insisted that they will definitely push on with the sequel despite the fact that Kristen Wiig will not be involved. Former Transformers actress Megan Fox has revealed how she never watches any of her own films, as she cannot bare to see herself on the big screen.
