21 Jump Street actors Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have revealed to The Score Card Review how they developed a very strong bond during the making of the movie. Jonah admitted that you have to care about your co star in a buddy movie, while Channing praised Jonah for being so caring.
Hill explained, “Movies like this live or die on whether you believe these two people care about one another. All of the great cop movies feel like the partners want the best for the other one. Our friendship in the film is really tested and put back together. I think that exists because we get along really well in real life, and we’re good actors. I like to let it speak for itself.”
Tatum then added, “I really respect Jonah. You have to respect somebody you really get along with. He’s one of the most creative people, and one of the smartest, that I’ve ever been around. He just cares.”
He continued, “There are a lot of people who are driven, and only worry about success. That’s not Jonah. He is successful because he cares. He cares about what he’s doing and the people around him. He’s one of the coolest people I’ve ever met.”
21 Jump Street is out now in both the US and the UK.
21 Jump Street actor Jonah Hill has revealed how he has a fear of guns being used on set. Jonah plays an undercover cop in the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street and admitted that he found the whole gun element a bit of a challenge.
Hill explained, “I had a problem with that because there’s this guy on set whose job it is to give you a gun, right? It’s a real gun and I hadn’t been around guns before. I was like, ‘It better not be loaded because I don’t wanna die and I don’t want any of my actors or anyone on the set to die’.”
The 28 year old actor first became involved in the movie 21 Jump Street when he was just 23 years old. He has admitted that, while he has spent the majority of his twenties on the movie, he would not be against doing a sequel in the future.
Jonah added, “Most of my twenties have been spent thinking about this movie in some capacity. I’m just really glad that the movie’s good because otherwise it would have been a waste of my entire twenties.”
21 Jump Street also stars Channing Tatum and is out now in both the US and the UK.
Hollywood actor Jonah Hill has revealed to Herald how he is proud of himself for managing to lose so much weight, as he now feels much healthier for it. Jonah also admitted that he believes that he will be able to attract a number of different roles with his new skinny look.
Hill explained, “It was important to me, not just because of my health, but also, as an actor, you want to be able to cover a range of roles. Being a chubby guy, I realised I was probably going to keep getting chubby guy roles… They’re usually comedic roles too. So, the weight loss will hopefully change that.”
He added, “I want to make more movies like Moneyball, right alongside movies like 21 Jump Street. I want to prove to the world that you don’t have to be fat to be funny. It helps, of course, but it’s not crucial.”
Jonah Hill can currently be seen on the big screen, starring alongside Channing Tatum, in the movie 21 Jump Street, which is set to be released in both the US and the UK tomorrow (Friday, March 16).
Do you think Jonah Hill looks better skinny or fat?
Jonah Hill has revealed how he rejected the opportunity to be involved in the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street, before being persuaded that it would be a good idea. Jonah ended up writing and starring in the movie alongside Channing Tatum.
Hill explained, “When they approached me to do it five years ago, I tend to roll my eyes like everybody else would when you hear about a television show being made into a movie and you kind of think this seems like a corporate cash-grab or whatever, just to play on something that was popular a long time ago.”
He added, “We make [a] joke in the movie three minutes into the film, saying like, ‘Hey, we get what you’re thinking’, and we’re going to call it out before you can and show you that it’s a way better movie than you think you’re about to see.”
Jonah continued, “For us, it was just about if you could go back and relive the most important period of your youth thinking you have all the answers and getting back there and you think you have it wrong, that’s a cool idea for a film. That’s kind of the reason why I did it.”
Jonah Hill can be seen starring alongside Channing Tatum in the movie 21 Jump Street, which is released on March 16 in both the US and the UK.
Friday actor Ice Cube has revealed that he is currently in the process of writing the script for a fourth instalment of the hit comedy franchise, which is set to be released by New Line once completed. Ice Cube also stated that he has personally invited all of the members of the original Friday cast back for the latest instalment, which means we could see comedian Chris Tucker returning to the role of Smokey.
Ice Cube explained, “There’s a lot of movement. I’m writing the script right now, so we worked out a deal with New Line. The ball is rolling. We invited everybody back and we’ll have a fun movie.” He then went on to admit that he is hoping to find more projects that he can direct in the near future.
Ice Cube added, “Yeah it’s always in the works. I gotta find pet projects, things that I’m really into. If not, I’ll just produce. If I find something that I just know I have to do, then I’ll direct.” Ice Cube can next be seen on the big screen, starring alongside Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the movie 21 Jump Street, which is set to be released in both the US and the UK on March 16, 2012.
Ryan Seacrest has revealed how he had no idea what was going to happen, when Sacha Baron Cohen approached him for an interview on the red carpet at the Oscars 2012. Sacha was at the Oscars as his character from his upcoming movie The Dictator and was carrying an urn with the face of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il on it. He then emptied the urn all over the jacket of Ryan Seacrest before being dragged away by security.
Seacrest explained, “I definitely did not know that he was going to do that. He comes over, and I asked him a couple of questions, but, you know that feeling in your gut. You feel like, ‘This is going too normally’. I saw the urn coming up. It was getting closer to my chest, and then it tipped over, and it wasn’t the wind. He spilt it on my tuxedo.”
Ryan Seacrest also admitted that it could have been much worse, if he had not followed his mothers advice, who told him “always make sure to bring two jackets, because you never know what’s going to happen”. Many other celebrities have criticised Sacha Baron Cohen for the prank, with Jonah Hill claiming that he does not believe that the Oscars is the place to upsell your own movie.
There was a lot of talk in the press last week regarding Sacha Baron Cohen and his possible appearance at the Oscars 2012 last night. At first the actor was banned from appearing at the Oscars 2012 dressed as his latest character from his new film The Dictator. However, he was then invited to the Oscars 2012 but only if he DID appear as his The Dictator character.
Well the Oscars 2012 took place last night and Sacha Baron Cohen did indeed turn up as The Dictator character General Aladeen and he brought along a little surprise with him. Sacha, accompanied by two stunning women in military uniform, was carrying an urn, with the face of the late North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il, to give the impression that he was carrying his ashes.
When approached by Ryan Seacrest, Sacha Baron Cohen proceeded to spill the ashes of Kim Jong Il on the suit of the American Idol host. While some people found it rather amusing, one actor was not so impressed by the show. Jonah Hill stated that he did not feel that it was right for somebody to be upselling their own movie at the Oscars.
Jonah explained, “I guess the Oscars isn’t the best place to sell your movie. I think he’s a funny guy, though.” Check out the video below, now, of Sacha Baron Cohen spilling Kim Jong Il’s ashes on Ryan Seacrest.
Many of you may have already seen Jonah Hill playing the role of Peter Brand in Moneyball and those of you who have yet to see the movie should really give it a watch. Jonah has revealed how he did not have to audition for his role in Moneyball and that he simply showed director Bennett Miller a copy of his movie Cyrus, which won him the role.
Hill explained, “I didn’t audition. I showed Bennett Cyrus before it came out and that’s what they cast me from. You know I was at the bottom of a list of actors who weren’t known for their dramatic work.” He then went on to say, “I knew Bennett socially and he knew I was eager to break out of whatever box I was in. As a respected filmmaker he wanted to make an unsuspecting choice.”
Jonah Hill received rave reviews for his performance in Moneyball and has been nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar. Jonah has vowed to focus more on making dramatic movies in the future as opposed to his usual comedy films. You can next see Jonah Hill on the big screen, alongside Channing Tatum in 21 Jump Street, which is set to be released on March 16.
Moneyball actor Jonah Hill has revealed how he was offered a part in the new Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained but he was forced to turn down the role. Jonah admitted that he was absolutely flattered that Quentin would want him in one of his movies but he was disappointed when he realised that a scheduling conflict meant that he had to turn down the role.
Hill explained, “I was thrilled that [Tarantino] wanted me to be in it, and I’ve been offered a lot of dramas since. As I mature, my sensibilities have changed. I think once you get to a certain place, your career is all about delegating time and what you want to spend your time doing. I’ve made a lot of comedies in a really short amount of time, and they’ve been ripped off every which way to Sunday. So it’s not as exciting to do those anymore.”
Jonah Hill was recently nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for this year’s Academy Awards and has admitted that he feels very humbled to be given the Oscar nod. The Oscar’s are set to take place on February 26 on ABC. You can currently see Jonah Hill on the big screen starring in the comedy The Sitter.

Superbad actor Jonah Hill has revealed how he is very pleased with how his weight loss has been going and is very pleased with the diet that he is on but there is one thing that is still holding him back a little. Jonah admitted that he has given up eating the food that is bad for him but he simply cannot give up drinking beer.
Hill explained, “I try not to eat bad stuff anymore but I can’t give up beer, that’s the one thing. I wish I could but I can’t. I think there have been a lot of really talented dramatic actors who are all different shapes and sizes. I was big in Moneyball and that’s been the most praise I’ve ever had. I think getting in better shape is a sign of maturity, of taking things more seriously. And I’m evolving as a person, as well as an actor. Plus, I feel so much better.”
He added, “I went to see a movie recently and they had a trailer for The Sitter followed by one for my next film, 21 Jump Street. I looked so different in the two.” Jonah Hill can currently be seen on the big screen in the David Gordon Green comedy The Sitter, which was released in the US on December 9 and is released in the UK today.
Hollywood super couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie already have quite a big family together but they might not be finished just yet. Brad explained how his current children deal with being in the spotlight before adding that he is not sure if they are complete as a family yet.
Pitt explained, “Their idea is that when they go out beyond the gate, because we have to live behind a gate, there’s people standing there in line with cameras that try and take your picture. Their idea is everyone has to deal with that.” He then spoke of the possibility of more children.
Brad added, “You know, I don’t know that we’re finished. I don’t know yet. I don’t know.” Brad Pitt can be seen starring alongside Jonah Hill in the movie Moneyball, which was released in the US on September 23 and is released in the UK on November 25.
