Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Hemsworth all gave their views on the movie, which is set to make global superstars of everyone involved.

I think the characters are very dynamic and that’s something I connected with a lot.”

Banks added, “I read the books and I love these characters and this world that Suzanne Collins created as much as all these fans do, so I understand the pandemonium because I’m as big a fan as they are.”

Elizabeth said in an interview with Den of Geek, that Gary was a bit too worried about casting Katniss before giving her the role of Efffie.

Banks explained, “Well, I really loved the books. I was an early adopter of The Hunger Games, I read them before they were best sellers, I was on the pre-order wait list for Mockingjay on Amazon.”

She added, “And Gary and I made Seabiscuit together, so when he got the job, I knew that the book was in great hands, and so – he and I are friends, so I just sent him an email that said ‘I love these books, and I’d love to play Effie’ and he said to me ‘yeah, that’s great Banks – I need to find Katniss.’”

Elizabeth continued, “I think I emailed him like the day after he got the job. I was like ‘Oh! You got the job! So, anyway, I’d like to play Effie!’ He was like ‘yeah, yeah, I have to find these kids first.’”

It took me years to find the friends I’ve got in LA. I’ve got five or six amazing friends that I trust and love, I know exactly who I am and don’t care about anything else.”

She added, “I think it’s so important to keep those people and family in your life. It’s so easy to think that this (celebrity) is reality; that people are lining up outside just to write down what I have to say. That’s not real; that’s weird.”

The Hunger Games actor, Josh Hutcherson, has revealed that he had a fantastic time on the set of the Gary Ross movie, as everybody was really nice. Josh did admit that it was a bit strange filming scenes where you hate somebody and then being their friend once the cameras stop rolling.

Hutcherson explained, “It was great – honestly, one of my favourite things about acting is working with interesting, cool people, and everyone they cast in this movie I love so much. The Tributes were incredible, and it was kind of funny to do a scene where you’d be terrified of them and fighting for your life and then be like ‘oh hey, what’s up? Let’s go get some lunch!’”

He added, “It’s kind of a funny dynamic, but that happens on a lot of sets, you do a scene where you’re fighting with somebody and then you cut and you’re actually good friends.”

You can catch Josh Hutcherson in The Hunger Games, starring alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson, when the movie is released on March 23.

You can’t put walls around yourself and say, ‘No, I’ll only let myself get this successful’.” Jennifer also admitted that she has had to ban herself from searching her own name on the internet.

She added, “It was such a bad idea and I shouldn’t have done it. We really are attached to everybody’s journey, and so I’m really excited to see how that all plays out.” Elizabeth then discussed which sequence she found the most challenging to film.

She added, “The Reaping is amazing. We get so see a heroine step forward and show herself for the first time and come to life, and it was a really remarkable scene to shoot. It was difficult to shoot under insane conditions, about 105 degrees the couple days we shot it. We had all these young kids there dropping like flies. It was madness, and it’s also the only time we spend in District 12.” Elizabeth Banks stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson in The Hunger Games, which is set to be released on March 23.

Liam Hemsworth reveals his inspiration for Gale in The Hunger Games

Australian actor Liam Hemsworth is set to appear in, what is likely to be the first of a very successful movie franchise, when The Hunger Games is released later this year. Liam stars in the movie as Gale Hawthorne and has been discussing how he managed to get himself into the mindset of the character before filming on the movie had begun.

Hemsworth explained, “What I thought was really interesting was and it’s one of the hardest things to think about: one of your best friends, or someone in your family, basically going off to war. And that’s kind of what happens to Gale in the first book. As much as he’s against the government and wants to stand up to them, he really is helpless.”

He added, “He can’t do anything about it. I just thought it was such a gut-wrenching kind of thought.” Liam Hemsworth will be starring in The Hunger Games alongside Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark and Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinkett. Elizabeth Banks talks Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games
Elizabeth Banks talks Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks has revealed how she believes that her character Effie Trinket is absolutely fascinating. Elizabeth added that she thinks that, while Effie dominates the Capitol, she is still in a very difficult situation.

Banks explained, “Effie Trinket is an absolutely fascinating character. There’s so much tension built into her. She’s essentially a puppet of the regime. Effie’s entire life is given to her at the hands of this totalitarian regime. So she’s one of the lucky ones, in that she’s in the privileged class, but at the same time, that all can be taken away from her at any moment.”

She added, “When she comes across this uncontrollable tribute, whose actions reflect on Effie, it creates a lot of tension for Effie. Effie wants Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) to win the games because that would reflect really well on her. But she does not need a revolutionary on her hands. When Katniss unwittingly becomes a revolutionary, that’s a very bad thing for Effie. Everything that Katniss does reflect on Effie.”

Elizabeth concluded, “Effie is very theatrical and she’s outrageous. She’s like your old weird great aunt who says all the wrong things at the dinner table, and who’s very judgmental and really obsessed with etiquette. She’s very much a throwback as a woman. She’s pre-feminist, but at the same time she wants things done a certain way. So when things are unravelling around her, she becomes very unravelled. It’s going to be a very fun arc to play.” The Hunger Games is released on March 23, 2012.

Banks explained, “It was a womb issue for me. The embryos wouldn’t implant,” Banks explained of her fertility problems. It’s a big leap, inviting this person into your life to do this amazing, important thing for you. And it’s hard losing that kind of control. But our surrogate is so extraordinary, and she’s still in our lives. She like an auntie.”

She added, “My plan is that when Felix is 15, we’ll go skydiving together. I mean, the guy is fierce and fearless, and I’m hoping he stays that way. Because I want to be that mum. The one who takes her kid skydiving.” Elizabeth Banks can next be seen on the big screen, when she stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson in The Hunger Games, which is set to be released on March 23.
