Scarlett Johansson to return as Black Widow for Iron Man 3

It has been reported that Scarlett Johansson is set to reprise her role as Black Widow yet again, for the third instalment of the Iron Man franchise. Feature Film Casting have confirmed that, as well as Scarlett Johansson returning, Don Cheadle will also be back as Rhodey and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.

The site also revealed, “The storyline is being described by writer-director Shane Black as being a Tom Clancy-thriller, with Iron Man fighting real world villains. Black stated, “the studio wasn’t happy with the result of Iron Man 2, as a result that pretty much came about due to a rushed production schedule in an attempt to hit a release date rather than simply make a good film.”

He added, “But I digress. Iron Man 3 will not be another, ‘two men in iron suits fighting each other’”. Scarlett Johansson will be appearing alongside Robert Downey Jr. later this year, in the eagerly anticipated movie The Avengers.

Filming for Iron Man 3 is expected to get underway in May of this year, with the release date of Iron Man 3 currently set for May 3, 2013. In the meantime, you can catch Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, in The Avengers, which is released on April 27 in the UK and May 4 in the US.

With The Avengers set to hit the big screen this year, we get the third outing of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man but he will be surrounded by a number of other superheroes. However, later this year, work will begin on Iron Man 3 and we will get to see Robert once again team up with Don Cheadle and both of the actors have discussed a little about the third instalment.

Cheadle explained, “It’s a lot more…it’s more action-packed, it’s a lot more fun. I think the interplay between Robert’s character and my character is a lot more dynamic. So, I’m looking forward to it.” Meanwhile, Downey Jr. added, “I think that we have an opportunity with the third Iron Man to make the best of the three, and maybe one of the better superhero movies that’s ever been made. But I think we have to remember what made the first one good.”

He continued, “It was very character-driven. It was very odd. It was kind of outrageous. And so I think we have to have the courage to trust that the audience is really kind of cool, and smart.” Shooting for Iron Man 3 is expected to start in the next couple of months with a release currently sounded out for May 2013.

She added, “I’m not really intimidated by a big group of guys. Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress Kristen Bell has revealed how she had a great time when she went swimming with some great white sharks. Kristen admitted that she was not scared of being near the sharks as she has never experienced any shark attacks first hand.

Bell explained, “I wasn’t scared because the cage makes you feel invincible, I’ve never been attacked by a shark, so I have a hard time conceptualizing the fear of being attacked. Cage diving was really the most exceptional thing, because not a lot of people get to be six inches from a great white shark!”
