Desperate Housewives movie is a no for Eva Longoria
Desperate Housewives movie is a no for Eva Longoria

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria has revealed that she would not be interested in returning to the role of Gabrielle Solis for a movie version of the hit ABC show. Eva claims that, while she has thoroughly enjoyed her time on the show, she thinks that it is now the right time to bring an end to the series and close the chapter for good.

Longoria explained, “I’m not open to a movie, no. I wouldn’t even pay money to go to a movie when I could see these characters and these girls in my own home. It would be nice to close this chapter.” However, Eva did admit that she hoped that the series would have an open ending, rather than just killing everybody off.

She added, “I hope the ending is a little open-ended. Because we want the audience to be able to hope and wish for whatever they want for the characters.” Desperate Housewives is now well into its eighth and final season, being broadcast all over the world. Desperate Housewives season eight continues on ABC on March 4, while it is currently being shown in the UK on E4 on Sunday nights and Channel 4 on Wednesdays.

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has revealed how she went through a period of being very unhealthy, following the divorce from her husband Tony Parker back in November 2010. Eva caught Tony cheating on her with a British model and it sent her on a downward spiral, resulting in her losing so much weight that she simply did not look healthy, even though he loved ones tried to tell her otherwise.

Longoria explained, “I remember after my divorce, I was so thin and everyone kept saying how great I looked. It was probably the most unhealthy place I’ve ever been. So it was funny what people would see as healthy. In my worst time, people were saying I’ve never looked better.” Eva has since changed her diet and exercise routines to get back to her best.

She added, “But now I have a great diet and exercise routine. I like weight training and abs. I hate the elliptical. I despise cardio. I just can’t do it. So I try to do my cardio within the workout.” Eva Longoria has not had any contact with her ex husband since they divorced, although she does insist that she does not hold any bitter feelings towards him any longer.

Which Desperate Housewives main character will be killed off?
The eighth and final season of Desperate Housewives is fast approaching and it has been revealed that one of the shows main characters will be killed off. But don not fret yourselves as it will not be any of the four main women, as the show is far too protective over them.

The show’s executive producer Bob Daily explained, “We feel very protective of our four main women,” Daily said. “Which is not to say that one of our [other] main, top ten characters won’t bite it. We have talked about that.” Bob also revealed that the show will take a glimpse at the future of the street.

Daily added, “Viewers have spent eight years’ worth of Sundays on Wisteria Lane and we feel like that street is a character on the show. And whether the women [are still there] or not, we want to give them some kind of sense of what will be happening on Wisteria Lane in the future… and leave them with the feeling that life goes on.”

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has recently revealed how grateful she is to the show’s creator Marc Cherry for changing her life forever. She also thanked her fans for their years of support. Desperate Housewives final season will premiere on ABC on September 25.

Jay Harrington gets back into movies
39 year old actor Jay Harrington has had a nice long break from the big screen, since releasing his last film Partner(s) back in 2005. He has not been sitting around doing nothing though, he has been working hard on the small screen instead, starring in Desperate Housewives and Better Off Ted, to name just a couple.

However, Harrington must clearly feel that the time is right to get back into the world of movies, as he has four film which are currently in post production. His next project to hit the big screen is the 3D animation A Monster in Paris, which is set to be released next month.

Jay will also be seen in the comedy Sunny Side Up, alongside Parker Posey and Kathryn Erbe. He will also lead the cast in the Thriller True Love, both of which are to be released next year. Jay Harrington can also be seen in the highly anticipated movie American Reunion, which is released on April 6, 2012. So it seems to be a big year for the actor. Some might say make or break even.

Big year for Helena Mattsson
Big year for Helena Mattsson
27 year old Swedish actress Helena Mattsson has quite a big second half to 2011 lined up. The Surrogates actress has hardly taken the Hollywood acting world by storm but with one movie already released, she has another three set to come.

Helena has appeared in some of the top TV shows in the US, including Desperate Housewives and Two and a Half Men. However, her movie into big screen productions has not exactly taken off as well as she would have hoped, especially considering she was in Iron Man 2.

Now it appears that the remaining movies that she is set to appear in this year could be make or break for Helena Mattsson. However, with such good looks she is always bound to get work on some TV show or another, if it does not work out for her in the movies.
Channel 4 to make Desperate Scousewives
It has been suggested that Channel 4 is planning on creating a reality TV spin off from the hit US show Desperate Housewives. The show is set to be located in Liverpool and will be titled Desperate Scousewives, following the same format as recent shows, The Only Way Is Essex and Geordie Shore.

It is believed that Channel 4 are set to pit Desperate Scousewives in a head to head TV ratings battle with MTV’s Geordie Shore spinoff, Mersey Shore. Both Desperate Scousewives and Mersey Shore are believed to be currently casting in the North West of England.

The original UK series to set off the current explosion of reality TV series, The Only Way Is Essex, which aired on ITV2, won big at the BAFTA’s. Ever since then, other TV networks have tried to recreate that success. E4 recently confirmed that the will be making a second series of Made In Chelsea, which will hit screens later in the year.
