Former X Factor wannabe Janet Devlin has revealed how she is struggling to lead a normal life, following her appearance on the ITV singing competition last year. Janet claims that, while her family life is still the same and she does still have her friends, she is still coming to terms with the fact that people are constantly stopping her when she walks down the street.
Former X Factor wannabe Amelia Lily is believed to have signed a three album record deal reportedly worth around £500,000. The 17 year old X Factor finalist, who finished third in the last season of the show behind second placed Marcus Collins and winners Little Mix, has been offered the big money deal by Sony subsidiary Xenomania and is set to get to work on her debut album straight away.
It seems that not everybody in One Direction is currently dating, as poor little Niall Horan is still to find himself a girlfriend. Get in line girls. However, there have been a number of rumours about who Niall has been dating in the past and who his ideal woman would be but the fact still remains that Niall Horan is still single. Not that he is complaining.
Gary Barlow has publicly criticised Amelia Lily as he tries to hold on to his last remaining act, Marcus Collins.
The X Factor judge appeared on the ITV programme 'Loose Women' alongside his act Marcus Collins. He defended his remark he made on Sunday saying, “I thought the comment was absolutely right, her performance was very out of control. Craig really stole that performance. It was very, very understated and actually reeked of experience to me. Her’s seemed to be very desperate.”
On Sunday’s live showdown, Gary accused Amelia of shouting her way through her song choice as she battled it off against Craig Colton. The four judges were undecided and took the result to deadlock after the sing-off, with Craig being voted off the series, receiving fewest amount of public votes.
But despite his harsh comments, the Take That member is adamant he never intended to take over Simon Cowell's 'Mr. Nasty' character when he took over from the music mogul on the panel. He added: “I am really serious about music and when I see something on TV I am critical in my head anyway, so I have been used to hearing things and picking them to pieces for years.”
Amelia will be joined by Gary’s act Marcus, as well as Tulisa Contostavlos group Little Mix and Kelly Rowland's girls Misha B and Janet Devlin, for a place in the semi-finals.
Kelly Rowland's girls have a lot to get off their chest, including Amelia Lily's closeness to ex contestant Frankie Cocozza. They were all glammed up and ready to talk in their first interview with Now magazine.
After receiving makeovers as part of their X Factor journey, it’s understandable that they want to show their new looks off. But they’re not shy about speaking up either. Seventeen-year-old Amelia revealed how it felt to be hauled back into the competition after fellow contestant Frankie Cocozza left following revelations he’d taken drugs since the show began: “It’s absolutely incredible, never in a million years did I think I’d be coming back. Everything flew by at 120mph. It’s a massive whirlwind. The X Factor's the hardest thing I've done in my life, but also the best.”
When asked about the rumours regarding herself and Frankie Cocozza, Amelia was quick to shut down the gossip: “We’re just friends. Frankie’s like a brother to me.”
Misha B hasn’t had an easy ride since the live shows began, either, with judges Louis Walsh and Tulisa branding her a bully. She admitted: “The most horrible thing was being called a bully on live TV. I couldn’t believe it was actually happening. I stood there in a daze while Louis and Tulisa talked at me. After I walked off, my phone started going and all these texts and tweets bombarded me, half of them saying, ‘what just happened?’ and the other half saying I was the most horrible person. It was awful.”
Misha went on to say that Tulia has never apologised for the comments: “Louis apologised, but Tulisa didn’t really say sorry. She just let me know what her motives were for saying it. But it was Louis who used the word bully, which is such a strong and emotive word.”
But the girl who’s probably undergone the most dramatic transformation is Janet Devlin, now a red-hot fox with an attitude to boot: “I won’t do what I don’t want to do. I won’t do anything that isn’t me.” Well if this is you Janet, we like it!
Craig Colton has been voted off the X Factor after a showdown with Amelia Lily.
The 22 year-old has been eliminated after he was piped to the post by Amelia Lily in a tense sing off where he sang an emotional rendition to Carole King’s Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.
Gary Barlow was right behind his boy as he criticised Amelia for “shouting her way” through her performance. Kelly Rowland was in equal admiration for her act Amelia, although she did merit Craig for being an “incredible vocalist.”
Tulisa Contostavlos then said: “I have to go with the performance which moved me the most so I am saving Craig.” Left with the final decision Louis Walsh chose to take the decision to deadlock for the first time this series, dubbing Amelia as a “ready made pop star.”
Speaking afterwards on The Xtra Factor, the former biscuit factory worker confessed that he was ‘gutted’ to be going and told Olly Murs: I’m gutted, absolutely gutted but on the other side I’ve had an amazing time and I’ve worked with the best people so I’ve got nothing to be ashamed of. I enjoyed every week, I even enjoyed this week and at least I went out on a good note”.
It’s set to get all dramatic in tonight’sX Factor as the six remaining finalists get ready for Movie Week.
The song choices for tonight’s show have been revealed, and the contestants have gone all Hollywood as they get ready to battle it out once again. Girl group Little Mix are known best for their up-beat numbers, but this week they’re slowing things down a bit with a soulful rendition of En Vogue’s Don’t Let Go from the film ‘Set It Off’.
In the Boys category, Craig Colton will be belting out License to Kill by Gladys Knight from ‘James Bond’ film License to Kill, whilst Liverpudlian Marcus Collins will be tackling Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson, from the popular 1980s film ‘Ghostbusters II’.
Janet Devlin has gone back to the ballads, singing Kiss Me by Sixpence none the Richer, from chick flick ‘She’s All That’.
Misha B will show off her powerful voice with the Whitney Houston number I Have Nothing from ‘The Bodyguard’.
Amelia Lily returned to she show in style last weekend, and will peform rendition of Think by Aretha Franklin from ‘Bridget Jones Diary’. The teenager said about her performance tonight: “I’m feeling confident about the song. I set the standards quite high for myself in last week’s performance, so hopefully the public will like what they hear from me tonight.”
Amelia Lily was voted back in the X Factor after winning the public vote on tonight’s show.
The sixteen-year-old was up against Jonjo Kerr, James Micheal and 2 Shoes, who were all voted off the in the first live show. The 16 year old has been the favourite to go back since the twist was announced on Wednesday night, after Frankie Cocozza left the show for his out of control behaviour off stage.
It seemed pretty clear from day one that Frankie Cocozza was just a puppet being controlled by The X Factor. Every time he did something bad, the judges, and mainly The Xtra Factor lot, laughed and made out that he was doing something funny and clever.
It has been confirmed that, due to Frankie Cocozza leaving The X Factor, one of the four contestants who were eliminated on the first live show of the season, will be returning to take his place. Which one returns in down to the public vote but it seems obvious who it will be.
It seems that The X Factor is trying to break the singers in gently this year by giving them some fairly easy songs early on. Last week was pretty much, choose which ever song you want week and now this week the theme is Love and Heartbreak.
Noel Gallagher has said that the lower age limit for X Factor contestants should be increased.
The former Oasis band member was hosting the Absolute Radio Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show when he stated “the judges should raise the entry age to eighteen.”
Sixteen-year-old Amelia Lily was voted off the show by her mentor Kelly Rowland, following her rendition of Micheal Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean.’ Luke Lucas, also sixteen, made it to Judges houses, but was let go by Gary Barlow after breaking down.
When asked if they should increase the age limit, Gallagher added: “What would happen if the public voted a sixteen-year-old into pop stardom? Particularly for a girl. Girls are more vulnerable.”
Amelia Lily and Janet Devlin, also sixteen, have both said that they are not too young to compete in The X Factor.
