Singer Adam Lambert has revealed some of the influences that went into the making of his new album Trespassing. Adam admits that he was listening to a lot of 90s music and was specifically inspired by the likes of George Michael and Michael Jackson.
Lambert explained to the Daily Star, “It can’t hurt me that the ’90s are becoming trendy again. I went there because that’s what inherently locked into my musical subconscious, as it’s what I grew up with.”
He added, “This album borrows so much from my first pop influences. I was listening to George Michael, Michael Jackson, Queen – I know Queen aren’t ’90s, but that’s when I got into them – and house music. There’s a lot of house’s darker atmospheres in the album too.”
Adam then went on to discuss his new single Never Close Our Eyes, which saw him work with Bruno Mars. He continued, “Never Close Our Eyes is a great dance song. It’s a little bit more dance than Bruno usually goes, so it’ll be a fun surprise for people.”
Never Close Our Eyes is set to be released in the UK on June 24.

Lambert explained, “I don’t know! Maypril is what I’ve been telling people. It’s actually two months in one. The first single is great and I love it. It’s emotional and it’s a great way to connect with everybody’s heart and to connect that way before the rest of the album unfolds.”
He added, “The rest of the album is like the first half is like crazy disco, electro and funk. I worked with Pharrell Williams which was great and I worked with Bruno Mars, Dr Luke and Nile Rodgers. So it’s really funky dance music. The back half of the album is a lot more angsty, darker and atmospheric, with more emotional songs.”
Adam Lamberts new album Trespassing was expected to be released this month but it was announced that Trespassing was going to be pushed back, as they worked on more material. It was recently revealed that Adam Lambert would be performing with Queen at Sonisphere music festival in June.

Lambert explained, “I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon. The thought of sharing the stage for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I’m honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory. He’s a personal hero of mine and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band.”
He added, “I know the evening will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band I know magic will be on display.” Adam Lambert is expected to release his latest album Trespassing later this year. There are some songs on the album that I wrote based on notes before I was in my current relationship about past experiences and past feelings of loneliness and heartbreak.”
He added, “I think the light side of the album was easier to write when I was in love and the dark side of the album was easier to write when I was feeling sorry for myself.” Adam Lambert is set to release his new single Better Than I Know Myself on March 11, 2012 and his brand new album Trespassing is set to follow the new single in the Spring.
Adam Lambert is set to release his new album Trespassing later this year and he has revealed that there is a mixture of dark and light elements to the songs on the album. Adam has admitted that his reasoning for doing this, is because life is never simple and people are always going to have their ups and downs.
Lambert explained, “I mean, quite basically, I think that everybody, no matter who you are, has that kind of struggle between light and dark with life. Whether it’s being cynical or hard on yourself and other people, or on the other hand, doing something that’s good and positive, we are always going back and forth. I think what it really says is that it’s not all black and white either, it’s not all good and all bad.”
He added, “There are slithers of hope, even in the darkest moment and even in the most joyous occasion, there is some heaviness as well and I think it says that very well.” Adam Lambert is set to release his new single Better Than I Know Myself on March 11, 2012 and his new album Trespassing is set to follow in the Spring.
Former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert has revealed how there are a number of songs on his latest album Trespassing which tell of his rebellious side. Trespassing is set to be released later this year and Adam has admitted that there is also a bit of sleaze on the new record.
Lambert explained, “There are songs on the album about me rebelling against society and saying, ‘F**k you, I’ll do what I want’. Cuckoo is about me acknowledging I’m insane and celebrating that fact. And Shady is a sleazy, disco funk about cruising for sex, so it will be interesting to see how Middle America interprets that.” Adam did however admit that he is currently very happy with his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen.
He added, “I’m so happy to be in a committed relationship. I haven’t had many relationships. I’ve seen and slept with a lot of great people but I’ve always wanted to find someone to be in love with and now I’ve found it I’m holding on tight.” Adam Lambert’s latest single Better Than I Know Myself is currently available to download in the US and will be released on March 12 in the UK.

I think this album is more in the direction of contemporary again. It’s fresh and it’s something people maybe haven’t heard before. Lyrically, it’s very honest and real.”
