Octavia Spencer wins Best Supporting Actress at Oscars 2012 

Back now to Billy Crystal for more jokes, laughter and fun before he introduced Batman actor Christian Bale to the stage to present the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. It was a big category with plenty of big names and many people have been torn between who they expect to win it. Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer have been the favourites for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar but Berenice Bejo, Melissa McCarthy, Janet McTeer were also up for the award.

The winner for the Best Supporting Actress Award went to Octavia Spencer, who produced the first tears of the night and struggled to get her speech going. However, once she got going, she was difficult to stop, thanking her family in Alabama and pretty much everyone else. She was asked to wrap it up before apologising and crying some more.
 
It is the first time that Octavia Spencer has won an Academy Award and she was clearly very emotional and it is no surprise. The Oscars 2012 will continue but first it is time again for another ad break, as we begin to get to the biggest of the Oscar Awards. Who will be the biggest winners of the night, we will just have to wait and see. Watch this space.
