Oscars 2012: Cinematography and Art Direction winners

It is Oscars night tonight and the first award of the night was presented by legendary actor Tom Hanks, who presented the awards for both Cinematography and also for Art Direction. It was a great start to the night for Hugo, who managed to bag both awards with Robert Richardson taking the Oscar for Cinematography for Hugo and the husband and wife team for the Art Direction.

It was a nice short and sweet start to the evening with both acceptance speeches being nice and short, with quick a thank you to all of the usual people. Once the first two awards of the night were out of the way, Tom Hanks then handed the Oscar award presentation over to Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz to give the next award out.
 
There is still a long way to go in the Oscars 2012 but it has already proved a successful night for Hugo, even if they were not to win anymore Oscars tonight. With Billy Crystal hosting for the ninth time, it has been quite a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The links have been great, the jokes have been timed to perfection and, so far, the Oscars 2012 has been going smoothly.
