Dayo Okeniyi praises Jennifer Lawrence The Hunger Games performance
Actor Dayo Okeniyi, who portrays the character Thresh, a tribute from District 11, in the upcoming movie The Hunger Games, has revealed how the star of the movie, Jennifer Lawrence was simply fantastic on the set of the film. Dayo claims that Jennifer never took herself too seriously and was always goofing around but when the cameras were rolling, she was simply amazing.
Okeniyi explained, “Jen is 50% goofball, 50% Academy Award nominee. Right before a take, she’d be like ‘Oh your fly’s undone’, then [director] Gary [Ross] would say ‘Action’ and then she’d just go into Meryl Streep mode! And I’m like, ‘How do you do that?!’”
He added, “She doesn’t take herself too seriously. You would never know for one day she’s carrying this movie on her shoulders. She’s really talented and deserves everything that’s happening for her.” It was recently revealed that The Hunger Games has broken the Fandango record for first day orders, beating The Twilight Saga: Eclipse previous record. As well as Dayo Okeniyi and Jennifer Lawrence, The Hunger Games also stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson and is set to be released on March 23.
